I spent two weeks in Hawaii last Sept and it was great but for a honeymoon I'd look for a soft bed and darkend windows and do the beautiful outdoor stuff on an later anniversary. Just be wary of the two way mirrors in the honeymoon suites like those found in the Poconos.

Did not get a honeymoon so we are combining it this with our 10 year anniversary. I want the beach too and so we are starting at Atlantic City, then to Hersheypark and spa and museum, and then to Philadelphia to walk the three mile tour. For our 20 we plan on Hawaii but will be celebrating freedom as our youngest will be graduating that year.

Great plan, cheerbren. My wife & I are planning a Southern Caribbean cruise this spring for our 10th. But I'm burning bigtime frequent flier miles to make it happen.

I went to Saint Simon's Island, which is in Georgia. Beautiful, quiet place, affordable... plus we did a day at a B&B in Savannah, which was nice. We flew in on a Sunday and flew out Thursday, so if you're looking for a short trip, go for that.

She wants to sit around the beach all day and I'd like at least some kind of activity--even if it's just a little hiking.

Suggestions, stories (I'm probably asking for it there), etc..
HIGHLY recommend you cruise the Carribean. Specifically, the South/West.

beaches at most every stop- and many activities (hiking, horseback riding, scuba, boating) and excursions along the way.

also- great food, 24 hr dining, very comfy beds and stocked wet bars.

7 days, top of the line suite w/ a balcony and airfare was less than 3k apiece for us in '06. I think we did the whole thing for about 5500 (?)

I did this 2 years ago...price for the flight down was $69 (southwest) and the ticket for the cruise was $550....I saw 3 different countries and had the time of my life for under a grand....I promised myself that is the only way I'm traveling from now on

I'm with Sly also...I went to Belize and we went hiking, tubing through caves and rock diving...it was one of my favorite countries...it's about what you'd expect Jamaica to be like...but nothing compares to the beach in Mexico....wow, half a mile into the water and you're still waist high...I dropped my glasses looked down, saw them at the bottom of the ocean swam down and got them (I cant seem to do that at Myrtle Beach)

We went to Cozumel back in 2005 for our honeymoon. We did the all-inclusive deal which would have been good if the food wasn't horrible (El Cozumeleno Resort). We ended up eating at Hard Rock and other restaurants multiple times throughout the week. The island was beautiful though. I would recommend doing all-inclusives only if you drink. We did and felt we got our money's worth with some excellent tropical drinks. If not, the prices aren't that good in my opinion.

I would recommend doing a cruise. We cruised on Royal Caribbean in 2006 (21 people went for my grandparents' 50th anniversary) to Jamaica/Grand Cayman. That was one of the best trips I've ever been on and the prices are great with all you get to do and the food is excellent.

If your budget can afford more, I'd go to Hawaii. I went in 1997 with my parents and brother and after I graduated high school in 1999 with my then-girlfriend and her dad/stepmom. Maui is great but Oahu has better nightlife. If I could go anywhere and could afford it, Hawaii would be the place. Since I can't afford it, a cruise will be our next big trip...

We went to an all inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya near Cancun. I highly highly recommend this. As far as outdoorsy stuff to do, you can take day trips to the ruins at Chichen Itza. We didn't do this, but would like to go back and see it.

it wasnt cancun it's further up the coast...it's where Royal C and Carnival go since their normal spot got hit hard by the hurricane a few years back.

Seriously I cant say it enough, the time of my life

And I saw the post about Hawaii and I have to politely disagree...I'll never go back there, I hated it with a passion....it just wasnt the exotic get away I was expecting (yes we did go to every island) there are some cool spots...seeing a black sand beach is pretty tight but lord PLEASE dont go to the Honolulu....that's New York city on an island...and all the people were absolute jerks...Mexico's my spot from here on out

Oh but I do agree with Maui...that was pretty cool...

Vegas. Period. How can no one come up with this. Not only is it where ALL THE COOL PEOPLE GET MARRIED :D It offers her hte possibility to sit around the pool, some even have sandy beaches, go to the spa and generally relax. For activities they abound!! The cost is not that bad and the possibilites are endless!
