Stalone finally looked OLD in this one. His gut was so big that he didn't even take his shirt off until the final few minutes of the movie. I was a huge Stalone fan for the first 3 or 4 of his Rocky films, but in the last one, you see that even Rocky ages and can't turn back the clock forever, and it really makes you aware of our own mortality.

I'll 2nd Hot Fuzz if that was this year. I haven't seen too many movies this year though. It was the funniest movie I've seen probably in the last 5-10 years.

Blood Diamond was great (it came out in December 2006). I completely forgot about it when I made my list.

I really liked Bourne Ultimatum.
I kind of liked Spiderman 3.
I liked Shooter except for the ending.
Enchanted was pretty darn stupid.
Still waiting to see National Treasure 2 in great anticipation.

got 1408 from my grandparents, HIGHLY recommend it if you like non-slasher horror movies with a psychological twist. this movie only further proves my John Cusack is awesomne.

Just saw Hot Fuzz on DVD last night and I agree it is among the best of 2007.

I haven't seen many of those mentioned here because as some of my fellow Old Hags can attest that it is tough to see movies with little ones all around. I saw maybe 4-5 all year in the theatres and maybe 20 on DVD that ranged from the past 1-2 years. So its tough for me to gauge what year they were released.

I actually rather enjoyed Transformers for the whole loud/CGI business. It didn't pretend to be deep and my son & I had a great time watching it.

I watched Live Free or Die Hard on my flight into Doha and it was surprisingly entertaining. Its formula but a very satisfying one at that.

I am a huge Simpsons fan and I was disappointed by the movie. It had some laughs but it didn't play well in the longer format. It was nowhere near as funny as Balls of Fury (which isn't getting much love in this thread).

300 was as good as advertised.

Anybody else enjoy Amazing Grace as much as me (yeah, I know it dates me as an Old Hag)? And as freaky as it was, The Last Sin Eater was compelling as well.

I just saw Juno this past Saturday night and thought it was fantastic. It has to be one of the better films in the last couple of years. Having said that, there are no explosions, guns, car chases or anything like that. It's just a story with some laughs. If that's not your cup of tea, you'd probably be better off skipping it.

I enjoyed Ratatouille...fam saw Charlie Wilson's War and had good things to say about it. I saw Transformers and really being a child of the 80s I didnt particularly like it. I also liked Hairspray. I wish I had seen the stage musical first though.

i just checked out Saw 4 at the dollar theater today. Pretty good if you like the Saw series. I personally would rank Saw one as the best and Saw 4 in second place.
