Wednesday night one of my dreams will come true: I'm going to a Carolina basketball game.

I'm not posting this to brag (maybe a little), but I just don't know what to expect, so maybe I could get some thoughts from my fellow Carolina fans. The only college basketball games I've ever been to are Liberty games.

It's against Nicholls State, so my only expectations are a beat down. What else can I expect from those who have been to a game.

The only Carolina games I've been to were at Wake or the NCAA tournament, so I can't tell you about the Smith Center, especially during Christmas break.

I was there twice as a visitor...and was very un-impressed with the atmosphere...and one of those years was when they had Wallace and Stackhouse after they won the title the year before. It just did not seem like the students got into it. Trust me though....you will be very impressed with the Dean Dome.

My condolences. Must have had a nightmare instead of a dream.

Haha I was waiting to here something like that. Rather be at Carolina than Dook.

Will you are a lucky man.....no other experience in life is this exciting (okay, wedding and kids), but you will love the crowd (well it matters who it is against).

The Tar Heel chant is great, also the warm ups are fun to watch.....the students are very much involved. They just don't use cheer sheets like Dook

I have floor seats behind the bench against Valpo on the 30th, so I am quite excited :D

I've always wanted to go to the Smith Center but never have. I saw em at the LJVM last year which was a 95% UNC crowd but it was on Wake's floor, not Carolina's.

For real? Alright, Kelsey. Me and you are going to a Carolina game. Don't argue.

I'm the only basketball fan in my family. I never had anyone who wanted to drive the hour and a half to Chapel Hill with me. It was hard enough finding someone to go to Winston.

I went to the Dean Dome when I was like, 13... WCW Monday Nitro baby. Just walking in (even it was for wrestling) and seeing the banners in the rafters took my breath away.

If you want to see a real basketball team play in NC, why not drive down the road to Durham?

You'll love the Smith Center. Roy is doing a great job changing the atmosphere. Although, the students will be gone for Christmas break, it will still be a great environment. Get there early enough to see the warm-ups. The team always does something cool during that time. If you don't have a parking pass, try parking in the new deck to the left of the hospital deck...then walk to the Smith Center. I wish I could be there, but I should be at the game on Saturday against UC-Santa Barbara.

I don't know what it is like at an ACC campus for a game, I am sure it is great. But recently I attended my first ever division one basketball game between St. Joe's and Penn State. It was held at the Palestra in Philadelphia, a place UNC played recently against Penn. If you ever get a chance to see a game in the Palestra, do not pass it up. It is probably the best place to watch a basketball game. No question.

All of my other college basketball games have been observed at Shippensburg, on a rubbery floor at Heiges Fieldhouse.

I would love to go to the Palestra...so much history. I also want to visit Phog Allen Fieldhouse, Rupp Arena, Assembly Hall, & Hinkle Fieldhouse before I leave this earth.

I thought Wake had a nice arena. I haven't been there in a few years, though, but from what I remember it's a nice place to watch a game.

The LJVM is a great place to watch a game. It's not Wake's arena, but it's a great place to watch a game. There's not a bad seat in the entire place. Parking isn't bad and is a relatively short walk to get to the arena.

It was awesome.... the game was fun to watch (Carolina didn't play like the #1 team in the nation... beat Nicholls State by 10). Weren't many students there being Christmas break, but a great atmosphere none-the-less. They had some cool things going on that would be cool incorporated into Liberty basketball.

im glad you had a good time matthews. looks like a tighter game than most expected. i have never been a big fan of the dean dome. it was great when it opened, but if you sit in the upper level, i just don't think the sight lines are that great. i am glad they moved the student seating to get the wine and cheesers going.

I've never been to the Dean Dome. Cameron's a dump though. My favorite ACC arena that I've been in (granted, it's only been three) is the LJVM.
