Nick. I know who you are. I was being sarcastic. I'm sure that shocks you. I was asking who you were that you thought telling me I'm wrong would matter to me.

How my approach is any more arrogant or condescending than the status quo around here is beyond me. This board is nothing but testosterone half of the time. I'm one of very few who actually speak up when threads get out of hand. You know that.

The video is on YouTube. It's available to the world now. Trying to frame it after the fact does little to nothing to help. I just hope it doesn't get picked up by the media that we're mocking groups trying to raise money for poverty relief.

My point about fake names was in reference to people saying that I don't show my personality here except for when something ticks me off. My point is that my signature for nearly 2 years pointed to my blog and my profile includes other sites I'm affiliated with. Those are places where my personality is more even and humor is out there. My point was that this isn't the only way for people to see who I am. For some people on this board it's not very obvious at all.

The man comment. yes. I'm implying that true men stand up for their convictions and don't ridicule others for holding biblical conviction. On this board it's become a joke when someone actually uses the bible to tell others what they believe. Also on this board it seems that A LOT of people simply ignore blatant sinful behavior or comments. When someone does speak up they are attacked for being "tight" or "no sense of humor". Men I respect Nick are men who have boundaries and are man enough to speak up when something is out of line. To me, poverty isn't a punchline. If someone thinks I'm not seeing the video in context... fine... say that...Don't use a keyboard to talk trash.

Nick, you've supported SJ to a fault on a few occasions. This board has supported poor behavior on several occasions.

The circle dorms do suck and they do need to be replaced (we went to LU at the same time and they needed replaced when we were there). This entire blowup has come because I disagreed with the first 60 seconds of a video. Only at "Liberty" can someone be attacked for holding an opinion that says they're insulted by a "Liberty" produced video. What freedom we have.

I'm not trying to frame it after the fact. I don't know how it ended up on YouTube or why it was put there. The fact is that I posted it here because I felt certain most everyone here would get it. It seemed as in context on FlameFans as it was in convo.

Sorry, but I think how you represent yourself here is all you can expect of people here to know of you. I just don't think you can expect people to do the legwork of getting to know the real you by visiting your blog, other sites, etc.

Absolutely. And when I have been, I've apologized and/or retracted what I've said. I have absolutely no problem admitting when I'm wrong. It's actually rather cathartic to do so, I think.

I understand that. Boundaries and biblical standards are certainly respectable. I just don't think that we all have the same interpretation of biblical standards, nor do I think we all have the same boundaries. I tend to respect men who value humility and understand personal boundaries. I think those are are incredibly important when trying to communicate with other people; even other Christians.

It wasn't a majority at the time, but yes. That's usually what happens when you express an unpopular opinion. You end up defending it. Especially when it's one so harshly critical as yours was.

Also: World of Warcraft has nothing to do with this. I fail to see the connection.

SJ is a friend outside of this board, and I'll support my friends no matter what. He's a great guy, whatever faults he may have.

Yes. You were "attacked" because it was at Liberty. Irrelevant. You were attacked because of the tone and manner you consistently approach others on this board with. It didn't help that you were expressing an unpopular opinion at the same time.

Just to clarify. I was not intending to make a World of Warcraft reference. There was an accidental capitalization and I have ordered an investigation into the matter. Insults towards WoW players will not be tolerated from my Screen Name. We will handle this swiftly and punish the offender with the full authority provided by the message board bylaws. I do not want to offend any WoW players. I do not want to come off as a jerk to anyone who may have taken my WoW as an offense.

In case any said person was offended, I sincerely apologize. I have never played WoW, I don't even know if I have any friends who play WoW. I do however respect and hold no animosity toward any players of WoW. If any WoW players were offended during the making of my post, please accept my deepest apologies.

As for the thread, I'm done with that as well. Thank you to all who have contributed your thoughts.
