Big South Announces State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway WinnerClick Here for Full Story

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Liberty University student Steve Haldeman has been randomly selected as the grand prize winner of the Big South Conference’s inaugural “State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway,” it was announced today by the Conference office. Haldeman receives tickets, roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to the Jan. 1, 2008 Bowl Game in Orlando, Fla., courtesy of Big South corporate partner State Farm Insurance. Haldeman was one of six finalists for the grand prize among more than 2,200 entrants.
The inaugural “State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway” began in August and ran throughout the 2007 college football season. Registration for the Giveaway was available online at www.BigSouthSports.com, as well as at select Big South football games and various on-campus events. Of the 2,200 entrants registered, six finalists were randomly drawn during the season, and each had the opportunity to participate in an on-field passing contest at a Big South football game for a chance to win $50,000, courtesy of State Farm. The other finalists were Casey Ward (Raleigh, N.C.), Sara Mallett (Sumpter, S.C.), Charles Major (Richmond, Va.), Andrew Paulus (Lynchburg, Va.) and Timothy Zudonyi (Hillsborough, N.C.).
“I am really excited and honored to win the State Farm Bowl Game Giveaway contest,” Haldeman said. “It is truly a blessing that I never thought would happen. I would like to thank State Farm and the Big South for giving me the opportunity to win such a great prize.”
