yeah...thats true...he should really branch out...
I am not expert on drummers, which is why I kind of stayed away from this thread...but I always thought travis barker was a very solid drummer...and still do...

I agree. Barker is great. However, the reason he doesn't get much credit is because he doesn't branch out. Every band he's played in has relied heavily on him playing in the same style, over and over. The most I've ever heard him experiment was on the self-titled blink-182 album. That happens to be my favorite of their albums, even if everyone else hated it.
Also, Dave Grohl is the perfect drummer, to me. Not too much, not too little. He gets it just right. The amount of material he recorded by himself for the first two Foo Fighters albums still blows my mind.
grohls timing and precision are very very solid...he doesn't miss a beat...literally

i can't listen to more than 5 minutes of fall out boy but i've heard their drummer is pretty decent....
Heh, I catch so much flack for liking Fall Out Boy, but I seriously love their music.
and I could tell you a million times I liked them before they were every 13 year old girls favorite band and on TRL, but no one believes me. I actually bought that CD on release day. Same with Panic at the Disco.
its just not my cup o tea...
i'm that way with System of a down...i listened to them in frikkin hs 9 years ago...
I used to love Fall Out Boy. I know it's the cliche'd thing to do, but I hate their new stuff. They changed their style and lightened it up too much, much like 90% of the bands who sign to major labels. I started listening to Fall Out Boy in 04, two years before they even had a video played on Fuse. I had the leaked version of From Under the Cork Tree and it was a little harder than what was released. Then the 14 year old girls got ahold of it and it started to suck. I really wish I could hear what they sounded like when they were a hardcore band with Pete singing and the singer playing drums. Pete just annoys the crap out of me.
14 year old girls ruin everything. If they didn't grow up to be 18 year old girls I'd say we should do away with them. Maybe we should stick them all in a cave for 4 years

One of my favorite Travis Barker songs is There Is by Boxcar Racer. It's just him, a bass, and a snare. That's all. I don't think there's a single cymbal or high hat in the entire song.
That, and his version of Crank That Soulja Boy was so much better than the original.

that statement sums up fall out boy for me...I still haven't heard their new cd...but everything else they have put out I actually enjoy...
I never hated them til I saw a video from them. Pete just exudes that, "I'm better than you. Love me." look. He single handedly ruins any video of them. Funny thing is, people are starting to say that Ashlee Simpson, who he's dating, is screwing up the band.
