Roads are ICY...especially bridges and overpasses. 460 was a skating rink. I made it in...but barely.

VDOT hadn't salted the roads and everyone was leaving for work/school like normal. Between 6 and 8 am there were wrecks on nearly every major exit in Lynchburg. Between 9 and 10 am people were stuck in traffic waiting for roads to re-open.![]()
First snow or ice is always a disaster. Call out the National Guard.
This is why, even if you are a good driver, its not a great idea to drive in Lynchburg when it snows. Lots of Hills+Bad Drivers=Lots of accidents.

I called my boss at 7:58am to let her know I would come in later, because at that time, LU still had not announced.LUconn wrote:gahhhhhhh! They just said our company will open at 10 today. I have to be here ASAP, regardless of the weather. Fun, fun.
I saw a small truck flipped in front of Koto on Wards Road this morning and a Jeep that had also flipped on 460 West. It took out an Xterra while it was flipping. Apparently they closed 460 about ten minutes ago. Campbell County Sheriffs were out pacing traffic.
