GO LADY FLAMES!

There is only one sport I would root against LU in...
...and those teams don't play each other.

They just walluped George Washington & have the 2nd best rpi of all non-top 25 teams in the nation (behind Georgia Tech) see http://collegerpi.com/women/ . AP votes seem to be hard for schools from small conferences to get. If we beet JMU we will get multiple votes in the coaches poll as well. A win against JMU could be in the top nine best wins in school history

The other eight being:

UVA x 2
WKU x 2
KSU
PSU
Depaul
Xavier

To my knowledge these are the only ranked team LU has beaten - I am right? I'm planning on coming to the game... I think it will be a barn burner.. A win against JMU would make this a 3rd season that we have beaten 2 or more ranked teams - While I'm making predictions - I think JMU is the best team left on the schedule aside from UNC. With Meredeth Alexis gone... LU may have the upper hand in the post this year - I was the game in Harrisonburg last year - Meredith was for JMU what Katie was for us - the towering, high scoring, player of the year for her conference. Needless to say with her gone... I'm looking forward to a barnburner...
Other wins over big schools:

Kentucky
West Virginia (x2)
I don't think UK or UWV was ranked or were they?

We are up 55-47 with 10:30 to go. No one in serious foul trouble. Moriah is 7 for 9.

A big 3 by Rebecca LIghtfoot and we are up by 11 now. Offensive rebounds the key on that one. and a turnover by JMU.

67-56 with 5:34 to play. If we had hit our normal % from 3 this would be a blowout.

Final score 79-66 LU!
Our ladies looked terrific as we clearly outplayed JMU, who had just blown out 14th ranked GWU.

How goes the first few games for your squad gymrat?
If 4-0 is pretty good, then it's going pretty good! No the team is playing well together and we are stomping teams that hung with us last year, so States here we come!

Very exciting that the ladies won tonight. Great win!

YESS this game was intense... At least I thought so... This game could have gone either way and those JMU gals know how to rebound, but we came out on top... I was looking at the live RPI rankings...and we moved to 56.. we're ahead of VTech now and right behind VCU, not too bad ladies, keep up the work... I'm hoping for a HUGE upset with UNC (--GOOD LUCK! lol)

nice win by the ladies over a quality team. i enjoyed the radio broadcast with nick pierce although he gave himself a shoutout and quickly retracted it. his "frazee crazy" comment was funny too as he got confused on which frazee was scoring at one point.

And Coach Green was smilling ear to ear after the game. I was impressed that Coach McKay and Coach Toman attended part of the women's game, and Coach Green returned the favor by going to some of the men's game. Congrats to both coaches for supporting the other's team.

Definitely a big win for the girls. The key thus far this season has been Moriah. Balanced scoring is great to see. JMU was the #2 team in the nation for rebounding and we out rebounded them tonight! Congrats Coach Green.

Looking at their schedule we should easily win our next 2 games. Then we have the tourney in Las Vegas against Ball state and then either Austin PEay or UNLV. I don't know anything about those teams, but I would think we should win the first, and be at least a toss up with UNLV. If we could run the table in those we could be ranked when we play UNC!

jc makes a good point. Having Moriah step up her scoring has been a definite help. I think one of the big surprises of these first few games has been Courtney Watkins. She has almost quardrupled her ppg average from last year to this year and her three point shooting has improved as well. Its good to see her succeeding on the court in the early going.
