The only job I ever got online I got thru snagajob.com, but that was a part time deal.

In terms of careers, posting a resume online will only get you offers from get rich quick organizations. It has turned into one big mass of spam. I posted my resume on monster and I am still getting emails from these stupid work from home businesses.

completely worthless. Half the jobs listed are "work at home!" spam. And they also will email you too with "job offers". I prefer hotjobs because the local paper uses them for their classifieds. But one that I really like is simplyhired.com It will search many of the different online employment sites all at once. The big 3 that HR always tell you to check monster.com hotjobs.com and careerbuilder.com

Yeah, that's all I've ever gotten was home based businesses or sales oriented businesses.

I've found that it depends heavily on what kind of work you're looking for. Being in IT, job websites are always loaded when I look. It's a natural fit. Some are better than others, but I've never had trouble finding openings. Then again, I've only casually pursued other jobs in the last few years, so it may be that I just didn't delve far enough in to find out the quality of the job listings.

Scorcho is right. It definitely depends on the type of jobs you are looking for. I find Careerbuilder the best but Monster works for me. However in my work as an IT Project Manager, I usually have contract work and I usually have a few recruiters looking for positions for me. A lot of times the jobs I apply to have a middle man recruiter in there anyway. You have to go through them to get to the positions.

I've actually gotten a couple of interviews in the past through Monster, and some employers require you to go through Monster to apply with their company, but overall it really sucks. Way too much garbage to sift through, and unless you know exactly where you want to live, it's hard to find something nationally.

what kind of job are you looking for? i know some good websites, but they would be of no use for certain job types...
