If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

I can accept that, Critic (being a Bulldogs FBL fan)...but to say the Hokies will NEVER beat an SEC is phooey.

What's wrong with picking and choosing? I don't see the big deal.

Computers don't think. Programmers think. Computers just do what they're told. However the program for the BCS runs, it's just doing what a bunch of guys with PhD's in mathematics say it should be doing. Don't blame the computers. Blame the mathematicians.

I read an article in an industrial computing magazine recently that talked about self-aware AI being less than ten years away. Asimov's rules may come in handy soon.

because it makes you out to be nothing but some kind of bandwaggon type of fan...a operson cheers for a school in basketball, but since their football team isn't any good they cecide to cheer for some other school that has a better football team. Its very lame.

consider it done.....

by the way SJ...told you there were plenty of UNC fans out there that just like the basketball team...

you know what annoys me more....Liberty fans on a Liberty messageboard that have other school logos....I know its been said before, but not in a while, so I thought i throw it out there....

correct....regardless of whether you are or not, it makes it seem that way and everyone thinks it.

i just dislike people saying, i like this basketball team and then these guys for football and then these guys for baseball and then these guys for womens volleyball

i like 2 schools. 1 i like more than the other by a huge amount. but i root for each school in all athletics...

So Mallet, following that logic, since I like the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Falcons, I also have to like the Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Thrashers? BOLOGNA

But its the same principle

However, I will say that I do root for VT in Football AND Basketball, even though our men's basketball team sucks 9 out of 10 years.

And as for the BCS, I have no problems with LSU being in the title game...Ohio State, though, is WAY OVERRATED!!!!!!!!

Atrain, if you think that's the same principle, you're an idiot.

How would you feel if I came on here and said I like Liberty football, Winthrop basketball, and Coastal baseball? You'd call me a bandwagon fan. It's the same thing.

And Posty, I agree about the avatars, unless it's the summer.

SJ-you're an LU student, liking conference rivals wouldn't be bandwagon...it'd be traitorous.

However, growing up when you don't have any collegiate affiliation whatsoever, it is the same principle. This got debated in my Sportswriting Class, with half saying it is and half saying it isn't (and there were more than 2 people in it).

this is exactly how i see it...pro teams and college teams are two totally different things...unless you cheer for like the Patriots, Yankees, and Lakers...then I know you are an idiot and jump on every bandwagon there is (though there seems to be less and less Laker fans...hmmm wonder why that is)

Not always true, I like the Cowboys, Yankees, and Miami Heat. If you didn't know better you'd say I'm a bandwagoner, but I'm not. I like the Heat because I used to not have an NBA team, then I lived in South Florida, and started going to some Heat games. Thus becoming a Heat fan, and I still am even though they are pretty bad this year. My grandad and my dad both liked the Cowboys and Yankees, so I grew up following them as well, even through the rough years.

if i had zero afflilation with UVA then you could say what you want. but my two loves are LU and UVA, thus the UVA avatar. since this is an LU board, no reason for the LU avatar IMO.
