I have no idea if he was asking for AIDs help here or abroad... but I honestly think they said abroad... something about he was quoted as going to put the stop to aids for good, or something. Yeah right. It's not the federal government's job to cure diseases in other continents.

Quaretine's are commonly used to prevent the spread of disease. 99 percent of AIDS/HIV cases are spread by people through sex and illegal drugs. You're against my quarentine idea, how about electronic monitoring bracelet's or anklets. That would perhaps be another way to curtail their behavior.
With mandatory testing of all US citizens we could easily trace the spread of the disease and punish those who are reckless. Knowlingly spreading HIV/AIDS is a serious crime. If we are not going to Quarentine, at least we can punish those who can't control themselves.
Why don't we just go ahead and execute them all so we don't have to waste the tax dollars on a quarantine and monitoring system?

unfortunately African countries do not know that. I read the other day that some tribes believe that the only way of getting rid of aids is that they sex with virgins. ( like 5 year olds) I think throwing money at the problem is not going to fix it. I think we need to get serious about educating people to make better decisions.

But we do not need to send all of our money over there to do it. The US is not responsible for Africa, and as terrible as it is we don't have to help them. I don't know why we are expected to help every other country. When we help other countries, it is a gift to them and they should appreciate it, not expect it. I do believe that if we have the funds available then that should be one of the first causes that we as a country contribute to. Bottom line: right now we don't have the funds.
We can't afford most of the stuff were wasting money on right now, we don't need to take on more. We need to reduce our spending and cut the national debt. Not increase it by intervening in all these other countries.
I'm not supporting or disagreeing with any of our foreign policy initiatives by pointing this out but I believe the reason the US has been as aggressive on foreign policy in the last 50 years dates partly back to the post WWI days when our isolatonist policies opened the door to the rise of many evils culminating in WWII. In the case with Africa and Aids, there are some Marxist forces as well as Al Quaida there. If the US pulls out we are leaving an entire continent into the hands of those types similar to the 1920s and 30s in Europe. Those supporting the aid to Africa would also argue that Aids began in Africa (sex with monkeys) so if we stop it there the whole world benefits.
huh? HIV did indeed come from a different strain (SIV) that was found in chimpanzees. There are a few different theories as to how the strain crossed from Primates to Humans but sex is not one of them.

1. THey hunt the monkeys, so obviously that's a bloody ordeal.
2. Monkeys are sometimes pets in that area so it'd be easy to have to deal with their blood at one point.
