This is certainly something you don't hear about every day...
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Bob Jones University has decided to end its fall semester a week early after nearly 30 confirmed or suspected cases of whooping cough were reported on the school's Greenville campus.

BJU said Friday that it will end the semester on Friday, Dec. 7, rather than Dec. 13 as originally scheduled.

30 cases- what's that, 2/3 of their student population?

I assume, of course, that these kids got written permission to be sick.

Is it bad of me to wonder how many of those 30 were home schoolers who's parents petitioned special permission for their child to attend college even without the required immunizations...due to religious preferences, of course?

Good thing they don't close it down due to stupidity. Did I really say that?

It was probably limited to either the male or female population since the two never have any contact.
That's not a problem here at LU. I mean, you can do all sorts of stuff with your girlfriend right there in class!
(someone should start a thread about that.)

Immunization shots are how the government controls our minds, Fumble. Any right-thinking American knows that. Or have you been co-opted, too?

wow -- they didn't have time to cover the inspiration of Scofield's notes and Strong's concordance in their graduate Bible classes. What are those poor kids going to do?

Further endanger the lives of Americans by not getting vaccinations because of their antiquated religion.

Lynchburg actually had a whooping cough outbreak about 2 years ago. It made it's way through the children of the boonesboro area. The pediatricians office said that it rears it's head in certain areas every so often. Feel free to continue to make fun of BJU though.

I will! :D

Question: How many BJU students does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer: none. BJU doesn't use electricity. Instead, they bask in the glowing warmth of their own self-satisfaction.

well I have a cousin (I dont typically like to claim her as part of my extended family, only doing so for the purposes of this thread...) that was going to go to bob jones, they accepted her and she wanted to be a missionary to france or some lunacy. anyways, to make a long story short, the great bob jones admission standards let in a girl that barely had a 2.0 gpa, dropped out of high school, and ran away from home and started shacking up and sleeping with any random joe that would allow her worthless behind in their trailer park.
