The Dolphins have released Samkon Gado to make room on the roster for Ricky Williams who may play tonight against the Steelers. Too bad to see Gado let go in favor of Ricky Williams.

It was good while it lasted. If he goes now, it would lend more to the Rudy type legend anyway.
I do hope he gets one more shot though.

You're crazy. A lot of RB injuries this year.

not any more than usual...look at the teams...look at the depth charts....find me a guy that gado is head over heals better than...

We can only hope that this release from the Dolphins so Ricky can play doesn't mean Samkon's career is...
...up in smoke...

The Fish should have kept Sam around because they were re-signing Ricky. They could have had 100% guaranteed clean urine just two lockers away from Ricky "The Walking Litmus Strip" Williams.

Sam may get picked back up by the Dolphins. Both Ricky Williams and Jesse Chatman have left the game with injuries.

Chiefs and Bears are in pretty short supply right now, maybe they'll give him a shot.

How many active RBs in the league right now have rushed for over 100 yards in a game in the last 2 or 3 years? I'd be surpised if it were more than 40. He's proven he can get it done when he's given a decent amount of carries.

No, it's just proven that he can be productive. If you have an average of 3 RBs per team, that's 96 spots Minus starters and rookies and quality backups is probably 50 slots left. I would think he could stick somewhere based on numbers alone. His only downside is he can get a case of the fumbles.

Not only his stats, but his size would help him be useful in the right situation. However, it will be hard to find that spot and create another perfect storm.

that greenbay line was making 100 yd rushers out of anyone that put on a uniform...and that was 2 years ago...there is a reason jesse chatman, cobbs, dayne, and eahfafchnimandu are all on rosters and he is not....or are you crying conspiracy...

I'm not crying anything. Players just don't stick sometimes for one reason or another. Like Jeff George. He's not as horrible as everybody made him out to be but he just couldn't get a spot on somebody's roster.

And that was the Packer's line before they went to zone blocking (which incidentally sealed Gado's demise with Green Bay). Every other rusher on the Pack that year was terrible and then they got hurt. He had 4.1 yds/att which isn't great but it's decent in the NFL.

wat? jeff george is/was bad

yeah thats not bad...but that was 2 years ago, as i said. by the "can rush for 100 yds" criteria, people also should be calling quentin griffin or wali lundy up

Some blogs I'm reading say that the Bears may be looking at Gado, especially now that Cendric Benson went down.

they need the help.

peterson has the heart, can block, and catch passes but i dont' think hes a very good rusher.

garrett wolfe is too tiny.

KC could also use him though...kolby smith is only a rookie...

ESPN is reporting that Ricky Williams tore a chest muscle on his first day. He's done for the year.

How hard do you have to inhale to tear a chest muscle?

That was good. I like that one.

Apparently, he tore it when he fumbled on his sixth carry (ha!) and somebody stepped on his shoulder blade.
