Happy Thanksgiving from Oregon!

I just turned on the computer (8:05am) and saw the "Thanksgiving" post from Vadim. It was a nice way to start the day!

Happy Thanksgiving to all the players, coaches, family members, and fans of the volleyball team.

Question: When the girls go over to coach Pinder's home for Thanksgiving, and the wishbone is pulled, what should the wish be?

I would wish that we would be a blessing to the team we go and play...

until we beat them 3-0 :-)

Thesportscritic has it right... shock the volleyball world!!! That would be great. It would create a buzz about the current Liberty team, and make it easier for the coaches to recruit future players.

With that PR thought in mind, the cross-country runner from Liberty got a lot of press this week here in Oregon (Track & Field is huge here), when he won his race (beating the favored University of Oregon runner). The UofO won the team championship, but the Liberty runner was held up as the best long-distance runner in America... high praise!

I had many people talk to me this week about Liberty due to the articles in The Oregonian (the biggest newspaper in the state). One man in my office said, "I didn't realize Liberty University was that good in sports. I had never heard of Liberty until I met you. Now, I see Liberty everywhere. I see posters in your office, articles in the newspaper, and scores on ESPN's score tracker. I'm going to start following the school".

I trully support the school's strategy to fully fund the athletic department, so its teams can be successful and produce strong name recognition for the university.

I'm thankful for the leadership at Liberty University - they have created a great home for Christian student athaletes.
