ATLANTA -- In a perfect world, Tom Glavine and the Braves never would have parted ways. Fortunately, fate and a strong mutual desire have reunited them and given the celebrated southpaw the opportunity to conclude his storied career where it began.

Years, months and days of anticipation were replaced with definite satisfaction late Sunday evening, when Glavine agreed to the terms of a one-year, $8 million deal offered by the Braves. Glavine's agent, Gregg Clifton, confirmed the terms of the deal and said he's scheduled to join his client in Atlanta on Monday afternoon, when this deal officially is announced.

I think a lot of people will not see it as that great a move, considering he ended last season poorly, but he still had a good amount of wins and quality starts in those losses. Our pitching staff only gets better considering we didn't have anyone last year except Smoltz, Hudson and some flashes of decency by Buddy Carlisle and Chuck James on an inconsistent basis.

At this point, if we can have Glavine through for over 200 innings, we'll take whatever we can get ERA wise.

If anything, this probably ends the Chuck James days as a starter in the Atlanta uniform.

no way...james is still in that rotation IMO. smoltz, hudson, glavine, james, hampton. then put carlisle in the bullpen.
