its hard to believe that if it were tech or uva winning their conference championship there would be a problem with getting some kind of video...this is the biggest thing to happen to LU football, more coverage for this would of been nice rather then the usual glance over....

If it were VT or UVA the game would've been on something bigger than MASN. And I doubt Gardner -Webb gets nearly the same coverage as the ACC schools in Carolina. It's just the way it is. If/when LU becomes a I-A team (that's right, I said I-A), then we should get equal coverage. Until then I think WSET and the local paper will try to give fair coverage but none of the non I-A schools are going to get the same as VT or UVA in the state.

One more thing. If it were Tech or UVA winning a championship, I think they'd actually be going to postseason play.

This isn't a knock on LU. The team and players did what they were supposed to do and did it convincingly. But, when you're in a conference that doesn't have an automatic bid and one where winning the conference only requires winning 3 or 4 games, then comparing it to VT or UVA is apples and oranges. Hopefully soon we'll move up and out of this stepping stone conference.

Just one more thing. OH Just forget it. I wish Sly would chime in becuase he might actually sway some my way this time, or not. Anyway I doubt the 1-aa (I will call it that forever so there) schools in Texas get the same coverage as the Horns, Texas A&M, TCU, or Texas Tech.

I don't know. I've seen some pretty lengthy stories on LU football in the past. (well, within the 2:30 guidline for ALL sports) Generally I think the local station does a pretty good job with coverage. I do think that they fumbled on the BS championship though, so no excuse for that one! Hey, as long as everyone's ranting about TV how about this ... My very first day on flamefans this summer everyone was going off on the selection of the TV announcers. How did that work out for everyone? What's the verdict on Tilley, Jones, Steel, and Scar? Or is this a whole different thread?

Well...the new sideline reporter was easy on the eyes...as Bryson would say...she isn't ugly.

I only caught one telecast but Mike & Ray did solid jobs as we all expected. Mike was a serious upgrade over the other option mentioned.

And for the record, I would be shocked if the weekend guy were getting only 2:30 for sports on a Saturday night. Weeknights, yes. But if he is only getting 2:30 on a Saturday he needs to be marching into his News Director's office and getting an explanation. Generally news producers are happy to let sports guys go 4:00 on Saturdays & Sunday to help them fill their shows with a short staff.

Tilley and Jones did a great job...SCAR was fired for a much better looking sideline reporter in Steele I never really got to hear her work but she does have great experience. I will get to hear her more since she is with us in basketball at half time as well now. I think it was a good crew though. Of course I may seem biased but I really liked the booth this season. I would love to have been up there too as a third wheel but it is all good.
