I wasn't very impressed with porter. he doesn't seem to be able to get a rebound, but instead just taps at it. I haven't looked at stats but I think BJ had more rebounds than he did.
If you are going to judge a player's rebounding ability by 1 game, I guess Alex can't rebound either. he only had 2 or 3 last night. Rell has numerous double-didget rebounding games in his LU career. He usually holds his own quite well on the boards despite his skinny frame.

Lang also revealed that Jeremy had the operation on his foot and will be out 4-6 weeks. It doesn't sound like they plan on redshirting him. Considering he's like a 4.0 student, I guess he doesn't see any reason to extend his college career.

He frustrates me so much. When he sent that one right back at the dude that shot it, other than some teammates high fiving him, he acted like it didn't even happen. I just want to run out on the court and shake him until he shows some freaking emotion.

How did they keep the Thundersticks inflated since the Coastal Game? Seriously?

Come on, man. They just didn't open them or blow them up until tonight!

Just giving you a hard time.
Mental note. I will remember that one Scorcho  At least someone was listening. Flamefans was dead tonight. This is one of the lightest game threads I have seen in a while. I wish you guys could still get the stream for free. I see my boy Realist is still watching...MRS SCAR tried to sign up for the Edge but it wouldn't work. I wanted her to get it so we can watch the road games in conference.

I went ahead and purchased the men's bball package. The streams all seemed to work well last night. The only issue I can see was for some reason on LU's stream, whenever a team went to the line, the broadcast showed just a huge logo of the team shooting instead of the free throws. Didn't matter last night, but I what if the game comes down to a free throw? It was almost comical, a huge Cobra looking at me when Coker went to the line.

^ that's what is shown on the screens in the Vines as well. I think there must be some rule about displaying the video on the screens in an arena during foul shots because we've done it ever since we got those screens. But the local broadcast shows the foul shots, so I assume you guys are getting our in-house feed over the net.

Why would they do that?

Baker only played 12 minutes, but Super had a nice cheer going on for him; Big Russ played even less (8 minutes), but I hadn't seen a block so intimidating since Ralph Sampson was playing up at U-Hall.

During basketball season, I have to have an unhealthy obsession with Tyler Baker. There's no reason for it except for the people I sit with like him, but it's a requirement.

still haven't jumped onto the tyler baker bandwagon...he can shoot the ball...but from what i have seen in games he is hesitant and doesn't offer much more then that....of course there are plenty on this board that love the guy....i just haven't seen much....but i must admit i think the tyler baker chants are hilarious

Oh, I only do the chants and stuff because it's funny. It's a gimmick to me. I couldn't care less who's in the game as long as they're playing good.

On a different note, I mentioned this to Scar after the exhibition and again last night at dinner: This year, I realize we're not going to be the greatest team in the world. We'll win some games we shouldn't, we'll lose some we shouldn't. The one thing I like most about this team is that they look like they're having fun playing the game of basketball. It's great. They look like college kids out there having fun playing a game. It's very easy to get behind guys like that. In the past, I had trouble getting behind the basketball team (and baseball for that matter) simply because of their demeanor on the court. This year, their having fun on the floor extends to me having fun in the stands, and I think I'm not the only one that feels that way. It should be a fun year.

I completely agree SJ....the past couple years it seems their was this dark cloud over the team and they just looked angry and came off to the unknowing fan as a bunch of punks playing basketball...I think this team will be a lot of fun to watch and i look forward to seeing them play more often....even though there were things about last night's game that weren't perfect they were fun to watch and I think that in itself will keep people coming...we will probably won't be much better then last year...but yeah...much more fun to watch

You've got guys cheering for each other this year. Last night, Kyle's on the sideline waiting to come in, Tyler knocks down a three, and Kyle's there clapping for him with a big smile on his face. The whole team's running around having fun. Kyle got knocked down one time and Alex comes over, helps him up, and Alex (for lack of a better term) congratulates him for working hard. You never saw that before. It sounds like small things, but it makes the atmosphere so much better.

McKay is all about the team, I have heard him speak a number of times and each time he talks about how important it is to be part of the team not one person out for themselves. I think the atmosphere has a lot to do with the coaching style. He has made comments like he wants his team members to recognize the assist on the shot not just the shot/shooter. I am really impressed with everything that I have seen so far. I think it will be a great season indeed!

i'm interested to see ohman shoot the threes that well against a good team, but i admit he's shot is money.

I liked Coach's comment after the game. He said he doesn't think of Ohman as a walk on: " He's a Division 1 player".

The pleasant "dilemma" Kyle's emergence presents is that we are currently getting his services "free", and with the contribution it looks like he is going to make, it's hard to imagine not offering him a scholarship for next year. If we don't, someone else definately will!

If you look at our roster right now there are definately some players on scholarship who either need to step it up a notch real sudden-like or start looking elsewhere. We don't have scholarships to waste on "dead wood".

i am not shuk, i don't even know who that is.

also, for ohman to get a scholarship elsewhere or even have another school be able to legally talk to him, he would have to get his athletic release from Liberty, which means McKay would have to approve of it.
