we know Baptists are never early for anything.
Don't know about the rest of the Baptists, but I'm in the stadium in my season ticket seat before most of the students are.

The equipment's already there.

There's no reason to have them park somewhere else and walk a long distance just so we can have ten people say, "Woo, go team" when they can pull up right to the FOC and go straight in.

That's the thing. If we push this, market it correctly, we'll have more than 10 people. It will be small at first, but when a school has no traditions, it takes a while to get them going. The payoff in the end would be worth it.

Plus, having the school's team walk through part of the school's campus helps to create a sense of unity & belonging (see previously mentioned Old Well Walk).

What's the point of it? They're just walking further than they have to. You'd get the same thing if everyone left their tailgating spots, walked to the road, and cheered and waved as the team drove by.

"tradition" is funny. For as long as I know, this school has been trying to start or force a tradition. You'd think in all that time, we'd have one. I think an even that becomes a tradition, does so becuase it's more spontanious, or has evolved from something else.

The point would be something like this:

a ton of schools do some sort of "walk". you have a certain segment of people who attend that and then you have the people who tailgate. at this point in our program, i do not think this would be a great idea, but who knows??

Since we seem to be copying other schools, I say lets blast Enter Sandman by Metallica as the team runs onto the field :flamingdevil

Good college traditions seem to be the ones that just happen. Whether it be some silly student doing something crazy and everyone likes it or whatever, that's how it happens. You can't force the good stuff.

One thing that I love seeing in our stands are the Liberty flags. There was one last year from some guy who randomly brought it. This year, I was the only one at the beginning of the season. By the last game, we had three Liberty flags in the stands, along with the LU flag that Dallas' group has.

I agree...that's why I enjoyed high fiving the front row of the student side (documented in the Shippensburg video on SJ's website). I just did that because I knew my job was to interact with the fans

Carolina Football is an oxymoron, why would we want to do anything they do? :D

10 Conference Championships....7 Top 10 finishes...25 Bowl Games

Its just "recent" Carolina Football that is an oxymoron. Blame it on Tourbush, Bunting, & the AD - Dick Baddour (for not calling Pete Carroll back, or pursing Schottenheimer, or ignoring Mark Richt because he was too "religious"). Still mad about that... :frustrated

A singular effort by 1 guy that noone sees is not really what I meant. Some slogans, knicknames, fightsongs, chants, etc. came from nothing more that someone writing in the student newspaper. Now, with Facebook, FlameFans, and smoke signals it's much easier.
