and we need to continue blowing out conference teams this week in order to have a shot...if we had just beat W&M and Toledo there would be no doubt with a win this week....such is life i suppose

I understand that part of it but that Toledo game would have been our signiture win that didn't happen. If we would had beaten Toledo then we are likely in but instead we are clearly on the outside looking in.

9. James Madison
10. Wofford
11. Youngstown State
12. Western Illinois
13. Montana
14. Yale - Does not participate

17. South Dakota State - Not eligible
18. Georgia Southern
19. Elon
20. New Hampshire
21. Citadel
22. Furman
23. Eastern Kentucky
24. Eastern Washington
25. Grambling - Does not participate
26. Liberty
34. Delaware State

The ones in green are in, the ones in red are out. We have ten spots filled, six to go.

Of the rest:

Elon/GSU/The Citadel: Only one of them are getting in. Eleven down, five to go.
JMU/Villanova/Hofstra: One one's getting in at most. Twelve down, four to go.

That leaves us in a relatively good position. I need to look up some stuff on the rest of them, but that shows where we're at now.
Villinova plays Delaware sat. if UD wins Nova is most likely out.
Hofstra plays UMASS sat. if UMass wins Hofstra is out
only one between citidel jmu, GA south and elon will make it by virtue of the fact that they will only take 3 from the socon this year. with those wins you just eliminated 5 teams out of the 10 competeing for those spots. we have an edge over almost every one of them with the exception of EKU.
Basiclly its Us. EKU, EWU,WIU, Hofstra and Villinova competeing for 4 spots. and Nova and Hofstra can be out of that this weekend.

if you don't think we have a shot... your blind... i'm just sayin.

I tell you what though....this is just a testament of how far we have come 1-10 only 2 years ago....we have really made large strides in just 2 years...I am excited about where this program is going

I happen to agree with Steve on this...but the remote possibility certainly adds to the anticipation of this game. A win and the players and support student staff stick around until 3 PM on Sunday.

Does it matter what the margin of victory is of LU vs GW. How much does it help our cause if we smoke em by over 30 points. And what if Villanova beats Delaware. Then it is LU vs Villanova. Then the strength of schedule kicks in and then we are screwed.

The first true test of this program comes after this season. We're loosing a ton of talent from this team and in order to be counted as a program on the rise, we have to respond.

However, I do enjoy the positive discussion surrounding this team.

there are a lot of if's in us making it...there is no doubt about that..I am leaning towards us probably not making it...but we do have an outside shot, and so therefore there is still hope...and if we do make it then whoever we are playing better watch out because we are playing very good football right now....

if we make it and we play wofford in the first round we could be very dangerous.

because this decision is apparently decided by what a select few people's impession of your what team is, a blowout certainly helps. We're talking pre-BCS I-A football style, where blowouts got you to the sugar bowl.

Yes, there are a lot of holes to fill for next year especially the OL, and LB's but lets not worry about that right now. We need to crush GW, hope for a miracle with the selection committee. When the selection committee snubs there nose at us then I will worry about next year and what they need to do to fill those holes.

All I know is that if we make it, the playoff game better be somewhere that I can make it to to watch :-)

We're in much better shape than anyone on here has given us credit for next year. Most look at the guys who start and have paid no attention to who else has gotten playing time.

I'll still be there if it's in Montana. I don't know how, but I will.

I mean, Our WR's are set with Bolden and Crawford. Our LB's are set with Bannon/Childress etc. DB is the only place I am slightly concerned.

And I don't follow the O-Line much, but SJ has said we are in pretty good shape there.

If nova wins they will be competing with hofstra for a spot not us, if it came down to it we would probably be fighting over a socon team like JMU or Citadel.which we both have shots over. we beat coastal worse than JMU did. and (God help us if they do) VMI beats Citadel they will only have 5 DI wins which means we definitly have the edge. so cheer on VMI this weekend along with UD and UMASS

JMU is CAA, not SoCon.

you are right SJ...we are a fine shape....there are a lot of starters that are graduating...but their replacements are more then ok...

as far as giving Wofford a heck of a game, this is true...but I would dare to say we would give any team in the top 25 fits...we are playing very well right now....

on JMU?

I don't think we have an edge on the 9th ranked team.

However, the other CAA teams we might.

out of the CAA who else is going? Deleware, UMASS and Richmond most likely which means there are already 3 going. the selection committee has only chosen 4 teams out of one confrence 1 time ever. and it won't happen this year. Hofstra is most likely out there too. so basiclly you can almost eliminate JMU and Hofstra.

JMU would have an edge on us. One of there losses was to North Carolina and they will throw that out the window.

Ohhh 6-7?? Man, wrap it up then 😭
