barton is a good team, no one is denying that....But, the d2 status makes most of us assume that LU is suppossed to win this game...

I was trying to ignore this rehashed discussion in hopes that it would go away, but I can't just sit back and not tell you that you are stupid. Or at least so filled with disdain that you are blind. You can say or think anything you want about Dutton, but you cannot say he didn't move us in the right direction. That's not even an opinion that can be debated. We sucked before he got here. We were in contention most of the years he was here. It may not have been to the degree that you expected, but at the very least we were better than the previous regime.

You are wrong because we were last or terrible for 4 years. Then the next 3 of the next 4 years we contended for the title. Unless you're in some kind of bizzaro world, that is the correct direction.

Its obvious your not getting any of this information first hand, so yeah your judging off someone elses opinion unless you have documentation to prove it which i doubt. Hankinson left this program 5.5 feet under and we won a Big South Championship under Dunton. Maybe we didn't continue to reach thost heights but that is a positive direction. A "dig" at Rd means every post you get a chance to take a shot at him you do, no matter how far off the subject we are....

We were horrible, and Randy Dunton pointed us in the right direction. We were on the road to getting better. The thing is, we needed a new and upgraded car to get us to the desired goal quicker and without breaking down.

What really sucks is I think we're going to hear the RD RM argument for quite sometime. RD took over a basketball team that was one of the worst in America, what he did in his first 3 years deserves respect...He also brought us the All-Time leading scorer in the BSC...that deserves respect. Although he was asked to do some things that he was not able to do therefore the administration decided to make a move. Even if RD was still coach here at LU and they found out RM was interested he's not a coach you can really turn down...he's in his prime and will laugh at whatever "pressure" people may want to put on him here...the shadow that RD always dealt with (the Meyer era and what really happened) I dont believe will effect RM...I dont believe that he'll feel RD's shadow at all, again the media at NM would get VERY personal with him and make life uncomfortable

All in all RM is coming into a tough situation...and it could very well get tougher

Does anyone happen to care what the players think ?? They are the ones that know the difference between playing for Mckay or Rd. And from what I have heard the difference is night and day.
Coach is relying on a true team effort. The players have the utmost respect for Mckay and the assistant coaches. They did not have that for RD. RD Who relied heavily on Larry Blair carrying the team. Maybe he should have spent more time bringing the other players along instead of investing his time in one player. Everytime I would hear him after a game it would be all about Larry. Thats all well and good but if you were a player and one that also contributed it tends to wear very thin. Which I believe it did.

Players matter most to me...just one player will touch hundreds in their respected sport...times that by 20 and that's the best recruiting tool you can have...that's why I was hard on other sport teams that the players were not happy...
