I hope the Lady Flames can continue the magic and keep on rolling!

I will be back at the Vines for Parents Weekend, anyone else?

Talked with Vadim who was courtside. Our Flames endured a loud and sometimes rude crowd in the gym tonight. CSU battled us in game three. Bottom line, another victory in three games!

For those who are interested, the WU streak is still intact, they beat UNCA 3-1. I am like a few of you in that I want WU showing up at the Vines with the streak on the line.

I heard that Coach Pinder wants WU to keep winning until they get to the Vines center. As for CSU, i have heard some interesting stories from Coach Pinder about the CSU crowd.

Sorry it took so long to give this update, but I had a hard time finding a wi-fi site I could use. Last night was something else. The crowd was unusually large for a CSU match according to their public affairs person I talked to. They were incredibly loud and, I found out later after talking with our team, rude. They were yelling somehing at Karyl when she was introduced. She told me after the game that they were yelling "Slimfast." I think it really fired her up. We started off a little soft in game 1 -- trading points for awhile. Then we opened it up and increased the spread pretty quickly. The same thing happened in game 2. Game 3 we got behind by as much as 6. We had them 28-24 and they tied it up at 28. We finished strong with a kill and a block to take it 30-28. The girls could have crumbled under the pressure and the noise, but they came through when it counted.

Kallie and the middles weren't clicking as good as they normally do, but with all the weapons we have, CSU just couldn't keep up. Allison came in for Karyl part way through game 3 and just rocked. She hit the ball as hard last night as I have ever seen her do. Nicki cranked pretty well from the right side, too. Kallie had a monster kill from the back row down the line that was a thing of beauty to watch.

God willing, we'll keep up this level of play today against Coastal.

Her body once fooled me, but after speaking with some trainers they said she has one of the strongest core's on the team not to mention a six pack!...I think it's a posture issue for her...anytime someone has a curve in her back like she does something has to go out!

VADIM just backed my claim about CSU's crowd as rude and with no class at all.

I remember a WU fan posting on this site last week and don't remember who it was. Does anyone know why the WU star player sat out last night and did not play? I am talking about Sitzmann. Any info on that?

I'm probably the WU fan you were talking about. I had family in town this weekend that really tied me up, so I just noticed that Sitzmann wasn't in the boxscores this weekend. Unfortunately I live near Charleston, so I don't get all of the scoop about the team, but I'm trying to find out why she didn't play and whether she'll be available this upcoming weekend.

According to someone on the Winthropfans.com board, Sitzmann has a stress fracture in her leg. It doesn't seem serious (the guy said she shouldn't miss more than 2 weeks), but I would think that would put her status for Saturday as questionable. I'll try and provide more info if I get it.

I know what you mean. It's pretty obvious that WU and LU are the two top teams, and LU is really playing ridiculously well right now. It would be nice to see how the two teams stack up now with everyone 100% at this point. Wish I could be there to see the match.

This weekend is going to be so much fun!
Parents in town. Two big matches. Winning records on the line. The Saturday night showdown. Crazy fans.
Does it get any better? I don't think so.
It has the earmarkings of a BIG EVENT moment.

Go Liberty!
Go Liberty!!
