All of our ducks are starting to line up for our big home showdown with Winthrop. The girls are on a roll and are showing improvement with every match. Winthrop is starting to show some chinks in the armor. Take WU vs Charleston last night. Winthrop was two points away from losing its first Big South Conference match since 2004 to Charleston Southern. The scores were 25-30, 30-15, 30-27, 24-30, 16-14. Are you starting to feel that the timing is right for the Flames to step up big against Winthrop at home? I do. I know I should not be looking this far ahead and that there are quite a few matches between now and Oct 27th, but this is going to be a HUGE game for the Flames. I can't be the only Flame Fan really looking forward to that game............
My first thought when I saw the results of the match in Rock Hill and how tough we played them was "wait til we get them in the Vines". While it's not a big deal to me, I kinda hope noone else knocks them off before then, so we can be the ones who end their BSC winning streak.
Not to mention they switched the time from 2:00 to a night game...that's HUGE as far as the crowd is concerned. I was going to post that score when I got home...I couldnt believe it.
The best part is I HOPE they are looking at the scores of the last three teams that have come into the vines...if they do then this will be one of the first times they've actually felt pressure before a game...and if they're not looking at the scores they'll find out really quick...we have a few players rolling right now that are opposing their will on the opponents....whatever they want to do they are doing and theres nothing they can do to stop it, and thats a good feeling.
