I know Anthony Smith is incredibly happy with Coach McKay and the offense that he has put in to place for the Flames this year. That doesn't speak for the rest of the team--but this is now Anthony's team, so if he's happy, I'd imagine it's an indication of the rest of them.

Tyler Baker is happy with the way everything is going right now as well. He's said the team would complete and possibly beat the team from last year at the end of the year. Even TB and RM come from the same neck of the woods he was a little hesitant as well with RM coming in, it didnt take long to tell what he was all about.

I like RMK and I think he will do well. I don't like how we at Liberty tend to hype things before we win though. I have been around for over 20 years now and it is not anything new. I was kind of hoping RMK would be able to avoid it but HMO had to open this thread . Just messin with ya man. But really I am excited about this year's team and I think they will do much better than 6th place

I am a believer in discipline off the court leading to discipline on the court. We had neither the last 8-10 years. That's enough for me to give RMK the benefit of the doubt.

I agree that there is a nice off the court change and I am hopeful that it will lead to on the court success. Talent has rarely been one of our shortcomings, IMHO.

I had a chance encounter with RMK last summer when I was in town. I was visiting a Student Devel office to see an old friend and RMK walked in to check on the status of a student. I was totally impressed. He had quite a presense and I could see why players would want to run through a wall for him. I could also see why he may have had detractors at a public institution as he gave me the impression he was committed to all aspects of his players development - spiritual, academic etc. and was totally supportive of the institution's endeavors. Without a single tip off occurring, I think the AD deserves a lot of credit for bringing in this guy.

i happened in to the vines center just going to the basketball office, they were having a full team workout(practice). it was so good to see ritchie again made my week got a little shot of fire from him and i am ready to root for the flames all year, hoping to get out there for a few games this year and try to make a road game depending on location and stuff. take care guys and go flames

I don't thinks its anybodys TEAM. BUt if there were one to take the lead I think it would be Alex. He is a senior and has the respect of the rest of the players and the coach. Coach mckay has nothing but praise for him and how hard he has worked since last season. However it is a cohesive group. Not one player is going to get all the hype which will be a nice change.

It's actually not AS's team at all...he really hasnt stepped into that roll at all, I'm not even sure if he wants it....but Kaz is right it's Alex's by far...Rell also has stepped nicely into that roll...just watch their body language in practice, you can tell quickly who the leaders are, who's picking each other up and so on....AS will be one of the leaders in scoring but not as far as being a true leader...it's pretty great watching how Rell and Alex have progressed.

It's been said on here before, he's the ultimate glue-guy. He does things on the court that need to be done that won't show up on the stat sheet. I can't stand stupid sports cliches like everything I just said, but it's completely true. He wouldn't be out there otherwise. As you've said, he's got no O and is a complete liability with the ball in his hands. Every team needs a guy like this. It's just much better when that guy can hit a shot sometimes.

You don't give schollies to cheerleaders. Again, I like his enthusiasm but he has a lot of trouble even staying on the court because of fouls. I hope he has improved.
