I go to a few Lady Flames games every year simply because it's my school, I live in town, and that program has represented the school so well over the years. When things are clicking, WBB can be fun to watch, but more often than not I get frustrated over the slower pace and frequency of unforced errors.


In reference to his disdain for WBB, the infamous Rich Roth made one of his more memorable comments: "If the NCAA WBB championship game was being played in my back yard................... I would close the blinds."

And SJ, wbb is no where near comparable to soccer. The last wnba play-offs double figures were hit at least 6 times, and there were a lot more that were very close to the century mark.

Exactly. Women's basketball is boring to people who know the ins and outs and rules of the game. Soccer, to people who know the game, know the rules, and know the skills involved, is entertaining. Either you're wrong, or 90% of the world is, and I'm guessing it's you.

People who really know the ins and outs of basketball appreciate wbb more, and since you think wbb is boring to people that do I guess that makes you no expert on basketball. If you really knew basketball, and few people do save for the ones who have played or coached it all their lives, you would realize just how complex the women's game is compared to the men's. Men's mind set on the court is to try and do something fancy and draw the oohs and aahs and is about me me me, women's is fundamental, pass, dribble, shoot, and make a basket and win the game, good team play, not try to look fancy.

Don't pay any attention to these bozos. The '97-'98 WBB season at LU was more exciting than a lot of men's basketball seasons were that year. (LU included.)

That was the dumbest thing you've ever said. I've played AND coached basketball, and I think women's basketball is horrible. The women's game is great fundamentally, but it's absolutely dreadful to watch. Women's soccer is the same way, although it's much more tolerable than women's basketball.

i agree with you Gymrat.chic. all of these other people who call women's basketball boring probably haven't watched it enough. i have been watching it for years dating back to high school and definitely appreciate the WBB games.

Uh, I watched women's basketball from 7th grade until I graduated high school, and it was just as boring in 12th grade as it was in 7th. It's just as boring now as a senior in college. I've seen plenty of it. I even dated a girl on the team one time and thought it was boring, even with the vested interest in it.
