We think the world of the Liberty coaches!
Coach Pinder is a strong recruiter, excellent teacher, and serves as a great role model for our daughter.
Jennifer and Becky are totaly committed to the girls, and the success of the volleyball program. Their faith, moral conduct, and love for the players is so appreciated by us.
We know our daughter is in good hands at Liberty.

I spoke with Coach Pinder after the ETSU game and told him what a great job he is doing. His first response was to remind me that God is the one to receive the glory for how well the ladies have done. I agreed with him, but also told him it is our responsibility to be faithful to use the talents he has given us to the best of our ability. I believe he has done that for himself and has caused the Lady Flames to use their talents to the best of their abilities as well. As a result, God has honored our team with a wonderful season so far.

Coach is intense in practice and in games, as the ladies well know, but I believe they know he loves them all and wants the best for them as well as from them. But, behind the intensity is humility that is becoming of a man of God. We are blessed to have him as our coach.

you think he's tough now? Try playing for him during middle school...imagine this x 200 when he was just a 20 something kid! He had us throwing up! FOR BASEBALL! I'm glad he's mellowed out some....for the girls sake

B/c of everything he did for me then and truly changed my life and from that a relationship that will last forever and he is one of my best friends today and you'll see a lot of girls walk away from this program thinking the same thing.

I think this is important for fans of all sports at LU to learn from this though...loses can come from a variety of things such as injuries, late start on recruiting and other things...not just coaching...and guess what...these wins arent a result of just coaching either...its a mix between recruiting, talent, coaching and character. The loses last year were not what anyone wanted...but if you looked at the reasons you could see how they happened, and also see the future looked good.

I hope someone from the Champion sits down with Chelaine and ask's her to tell them the story on how she came to Liberty from Auburn...God worked in that transfer from the time she made her mind up she wanted a Christian school and made a list and contacted them all. She pretty much said the first school that returns her call will be the school God wants her at. It was Liberty just 30 minutes before another school called. She didnt even need to visit to know this was for her.

Thats the short version and just a glimpse into MANY stories this team has. I'm glad I happened to follow SP and his program b/c I have I've seen one of the best teams to represent LU, what JF has strived for and a great example of Christ on and off the court.

No matter what happens from here, the program's headed in the right direction and that's all that matters not the Wins and Loses (although I know thats what most judge by) there is much more to a team than that....those loses do not define these girls and neither do the wins

That would be an interesting interview Im sure. Too bad we don't have the full fledged TWIFA or that would be a nice piece to have.

Having had a chance to sit down with Coach Pinder a few times, Im really starting to see just how passionate he is about this program, and how humble he is. He always gives the glory to God for the team's success, and knows to give the credit to the players, not to himself.
