Keyes makes Liberty address

Those who stand firm in exercising their beliefs in the face of defeat will be viewed as victors in the eyes of God, Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes told Liberty University students Monday morning at the Vines Center.

"The truth is not just about what we believe," said Keyes, who joined a crowded Republican field of nine candidates on Sept. 14. "It's very much about how we live and what we do."

I think it's time for him to find another way to be involved with politics. His faux presidential bids are tired.

I'm curious why you see his bids as "faux" but not Ron Paul. I'm not trying to flame (is that a bad thing on this board?), I am genuinely curious. And in the interest of full disclosure, I am a Keyes supporter and have voted for him in primaries in the past.

Hah, this builds on my post in the "Bush predicts Clinton victory" thread. Which, by the way, went completely ignored. The lack of acknowledgment may force me to boycott this board for a couple hours.

I see them as such because I've never seen Keyes actually put forth the effort to wage a real campaign. He doesn't do the work to raise funds, reach people or leverage communications mediums that someone who wants a legitimate shot at the presidency should be doing. Ron Paul may not stand a snoball's chance in hell, but it's not because of a lack of effort. Paul is running as if he doesn't know that he has no shot. Keyes is just out there "campaigning" just for some face time. He has no career if he doesn't "campaign".

It's not that I disagree with him. I just think he needs to find a new methodology for delivering his ideas since he's not actually running a real campaign.

Thank you for elaborating. I can't say that I disagree with you. My biggest problem with the whole process is that guys like Keyes, Paul, Huckabee and others are labled by the media at the begining as not having a chance, so nobody supports them because they don't have a chance. I appreciate your embrace of a non-frontrunner.
