For those who say Landis might not be as good as Brock...that scares me as well. Landis is a Rocco recruit. Brock was a Karcher recruit...I'm glad Brock stayed, and I'm glad Terell stayed...but if Landis isn't even close to the talent level of Brock, then I'm very worried about Rocco's recruiting...b/c the UVA pipeline will dry up eventually.
I'd like to see either Terell or Landis at this point as QB...and I'm actually against more offensive plays...a lot of our problems seem to be our receivers and QB aren't on the same page...maybe instead of lining up one play in the I, the next in the wishbone, then to the shotgun, then in the ace...maybe we could use a pro-set with Landis behind center, and Terell and Rashad in the backfield, and know what we're doing from there. Are we a spread team...are we an I team...are we a run-n-gun team...I don't know...our offense has no identity. I don't know football...but that's just my uninformed opinion as a fan.
I've been away for the past day and a half, and I'm just starting to read. But I have to stop right here, and say that the statement about if Landis is not as good as Brock then you're worried about Rocco's recruiting. That's the craziest statement I've ever heard. You can't base a coach's recruiting prowess on one guy. He could have recruited Landis thinking that Brock was our guy, and Landis would be a career back up. We don't know that. I just can't let that statement go by. It will take at least one more year for us to BEGIN to realize how good of a recruiter coach Rocco is.

As for ToTheLeft, he heard something from a defensive player earlier in the day. The defensive guys don't know what's going on with the personnel on the offensive side of the ball, especially at 1pm on a Monday afternoon.
Did they go all the way?
What the hell are you talking about? Do you have nothing better to do than delve into the personal lives of 20 year old kids?
I'm ok with people saying things about the play on the field, but when people start attacking my friends personally I'm going to stand up for them 100%.
SuperJon wrote:Yes, Paradox, I did delete my post because the relationship status of a student-athlete has no business being on this board so I went back and deleted it. As the Ok St coach said, we can criticize a player for what he does on the field, but do not EVER bring a kid's personal life into the mix. What Brock does off of the field is his business.

i know....i just was slightly shocked...
just for the record wasn't trying to bring his personal life on the board...I was just trying to bring some humor to it....
I had no idea that in doing so I would ignite a fire....

oh man...the video from that outburst was classic
Extremely funny.
It ridiculously beyond Bobby Knight.
I wouldn't go quite that far...he was sticking up for his players...bobby knight was just a selfish idiot...
I'll be the first to admit that I look up stuff on our opponents. I'm a student. I get four years to have fun like that. This is the last year I can do it. I do it all in fun though, and everyone knows I do it in good spirits. Paradox is just looking for any reason to bring someone down, thus his conspiracy theories with the Roccos and Jennings, and now the crap about Brock and his personal life.

eh.. yea..
You forgot about the part about me having ice cream with the Roccos. Ya know the'll be over soon and when they get here--I gotta scram.
I brushed that off as your typical jack***-ness (I just made up a word) and trying to be funny when really, all you are is a jack*** with no clue what goes on in Lynchburg.
Completely off topic but that guy was right in all he did. He stood up for his player when a columnist who likely never played a competitive sport in their life was criticizing a kid personally, and not athletically.
Just curious, how do you square your self-righteous rant about Brock "but do not EVER bring a kid's personal life into the mix"
and then mock and post pictures of some student in your class?!?
Hypocrisy? Are you on crack? They're doing that crap in front of 150 other kids. That's not personal. What they do in their bedrooms at night is up to them. What they do in front of me while in class is fair game. If you caught a player on the field all over their girlfriend instead of practicing, sure, make fun of em.

Well, since we're getting all personal on people we've never met and don't know .... I hope you get a virus.
And not the dainty little phlegmy kind.
Is this mercy-killing or cross-pollenation?
Only the strawberry knows.
I thought that you were gonna say something like...you heard a conversation through your thin apartment walls... something to the effect of Rick Duckett lining up behind center this week.
All kidding aside, Rocco's wife is babysitting my kids tonight as she does most Monday nights. Usually Danny stops over to pick her up. Right after that, he usually walks my dog for me. If I want to know something, I usually get the ice cream out just before they're ready to go. Right around the time that I'm about to pour the fudge Danny usually tells me everything.
That said--I think I'm having ice cream tonight---with fudge!
It's gonna be OK---we'll all know soon enough. I just sent Danny's wife out to get the fudge.
SJ is stationed right outside of Brock headquarters... he'll bring us a live update on the dating situation soon.
