Practice update: Smith was in grays last night and threw a little; big improvement. Greiser is going to be the real deal at safety. We have absolutely no one on defense who can stop Jennings 1-on-1; fortunately, none of the teams we play likely do either.
Just a little heads-up for those of you who are coming out tonight who may have not been to any of the other practices: for the duration of this year's spring ball, drills and scrimmages are being run "full speed thud". This means that the guys are moving at full speed, blocking, hitting and wrapping up but without actually tackling and absolutely no 'kill shots'; the idea being that with new systems on both sides of the ball, it's better that as many possible 2-deep guys get as many reps as possible w/o losing them to injury. So far, it seems to be working. We've only lost a couple guys, none long-term and nothing more serious than a rolled ankle or hyperextension.
