Replace the words "Landis" with "Kyle Painter" and you'll realize how ridiculous you are, should you know who Kyle Painter is. Elon probably stopped wanting to embarrass us by the 4th quarter and didn't have their 1st string in.
Kyle was not as bad as who else was on the roster. He ALWAYS moved the team when he had extended playing time. Didn't have a monster arm but was accurate.

You may think this is a joke but it is TRUE. Other unheralded Truths....

Notre Dame will NEVER have another successful season because they covered up Touchdown Jesus!!
LU Basketball will NEVER BE successfull because Paradox will NEVER criticize RD or any of his decisions (give it a sec)
And BIGSMOOTH will NEVER Say Negative Nellie again. At least unless he is eating sausage

FLAMESHAW:

I apologized for that several posts ago after CIDER brought the error to my attention. Go back a page and read it, if you like.

We may never become golfing buddies.... but it is a minor issue that you should be able to move on from :) And for what it's worth....all it ever was is just a little jesting on my part.....

We are already OT, so I won't go on too much. I didn't see anything after your original post until I posted, so I missed what you said regarding realizing your error. I agree it was a minor issue, but it has been mentioned more than once and just thought I would set the record straight.
And as far as jesting on your part, or just posting things to be funny or to be thought provoking; you might believe it, but I believe most see it for what it is.

Flameshaw, considering that Paradox has made 24 posts on this thread alone today (with about 3 hours remaining before midnight EST), it is understandable how you could have missed his "apology" but here it is:
I was wrong with an exchange with FLAMESHAW way back, and CIDER pointed it out....

Just listened to Coach Rocco's post game press conference, and this week should be an interesting one. I'm curious to see what kind of changes will be made. Whatever happens, hopefully the team will come out looking a lot better next week.

Seriously, spare yourself the embarressment... MOVE ON AND TALK FOOTBALL, AT SOME POINT.

It was jesting--and I'm quite tired of this "girly" say-you're-sorry conversation. It's obvious that you can't let this little thing go. It's obvious that you don't have a sense of humor because you seem to be entertained by the fact that my wife is an LU volleyball alumnus.

dox you have a good point there. I am an alum and have only been on this board for a few weeks. I was very excited to have a place to talk flames sports and did feel attacked very early on for having a strong opinion. It stung for a moment but after I thought about it for a moment I was still very thankful for a place to express my opinion and get in the fray. Yes there are some here who seem to wake up every day looking to pick a fight with any poster who has a different opinion from their own but please don't let anyone drive you or your friends/fellow alums away from the discussion. LU athletics needs the support and passion of their alumni base. You that are current students please remember that we alums sometimes have a lot of baggage from years of suffering through dashed hopes and squandered opportunities to move our athletics forward. What appears to be overly critical comments sometimes is really insight from watching how LU has performed in the past and a desire not to see us repeat those same mistakes. Please welcome us even if you don't agree with us. We all want LU to be the best it can be. Please stop attacking each other and realize that although we don't all agree at least we care. The more people who care the more fans we gain. The more fans we gain the more $ comes in to improve facilities, fund scholarships, etc... The more people talk/debate about LU athletics the more others will come watch or listen or read about it just to be a part of the conversation.

I really hate to think some have been run off by a few blowhards on this board (you know who you are). Everyone grow a little thicker skin and go LU.

paradox wrote: In my neck of the woods, if you disagree with someone, you simply said so, or state an opposition to the opinion that you disagree with. That's how I approach it... and then the ensuing pile-on. So, call it what you will.

Most of you all, unfortunately, are far too sensitive and easily offended when someone throws something out there that you never thought of before. Oh my, what if it's true

In sports conversations, people may often have opposing loyalties. Does a Redskin fan everthink that a Dallas fan is right?

You guys have been defending an inept passing game for two years now, and then when you can't make sense of it or defend it any longer, you turn around and say, "hey, that guy who is posting stuff that I don't like is rude, arrogant, and ignorant."

I guess it's hard to defend, thus the insults

Do I have strong opinions?--sure I do. However, I could care less who agrees or disagrees with what I'm saying. Why do you care so much :?: :?: :?:
see here is my deal with you...I am admitting to agreeing with you on some things...but you come off as such a "I know all" kind of a person I don't want to associate myself with someone like you....its not your opinions people don't like (we all have different opinions)...its the way you go about it....

Again, I'm just having fun. I really don't mind being wrong. I would have loved to have been wrong about the QB situation and I would love to be wrong and see Jennings get 150 yards against a good D. You guys are reading way too much into what I'm actually saying.

I was wrong with an exchange with FLAMESHAW way back, and CIDER pointed it out....

...I did chuckle at the Skip Blayless comparison... I think it's a stretch, but it's still humorous, nonetheless..

You guys do tend to be more than a little sensitive here. There are alumni & friends who won't join this board for that very reason... and some feel that they've been run off--just for expressing an opinion.... that's sad

Although very flattering, we really need to move on and stop talking about me.

This is suppsoed to be a forum where people can express their thoughts about LU sports.

I was unaware of your wife playing volleyball for LU or anyone else. Maybe she is the sports expert in your family?

Your right paradox it's not like you did that when you tried to call out the Jennings and Rocco families on having some sort of secret contract relationship. Thank goodness your on here to call people out on things like slander. I don't know what we would do without you.

Nothing against you, Paradox...but can we please stop looking past St. Francis. I've heard Toledo mentioned a couple of times by different people, like it's our next game...but we need to get things together and beat St. Francis first.

If we play like we did at Elon, this win is not guaranteed. Just because this is not a Southern school doesn't mean they're going to come and lay down. Gosh...we were losing to a D-II team until a kick return brought some life into us, if I recall correctly.

Jim, St. Francis is as bad or worse than a DII school. They're a non-scholly team in a league where one of the teams dropped their program months before the season.

SJ...thanks...I realy don't know much about the Red Flash...But they are like us in that they're girls basketball team has made the NCAAs something like 10 year in a row.

Also, IUP is a D-II team from PA that came to Williams and won when Rutigliano was here...so don't underestimate the PA players.

Lehigh was non-scholarship as well, and they've whipped us, too.

Lehigh is a completely different type of non-scholly than this.

But IUP was D-II from PA...and they've beaten us twice. And I was just making a point...Lehigh also being a PA team as well I believe. I'm not saying we will lose...we could easily win by 28...but we have to show up.

I agree we shouldn't look past St. Francis. Sounds like the way the team looked this week, they could get beat by a high school team. This week against St. Francis is where we attempt to pull it together and get focused. Then the test of how far we've actually come will be in Toledo.

Too much RJ not enough ZT. IF the coaches feel ZT is the best athlete and most versatile player we have, why was he playing about 10 minutes more then me???

To echo a coach who doesn't get much love here: We still have hope. IF we win the BSC we will still have accomplished something this season.
Point 1-It has been said before, but yeah, very true.

Point 2- I totally agree. 7-4 or 8-3 with a big south championship would be a pretty good year. not what we were expecting, but looking back i am sure there will be plenty to be happy about.

I would say not winning the Big South would be a dissappointment, tho.

Regardless of our struggles, we should take care of St. Fran quite easily.

And PBOW, nice try---but suggesting the obvious: Rocco is committed to Jennings over Terrell, and that Rocco has deep roots with Jennings happens to be FACTUAL--and hardly conspiracy material.... LOL

I like Rocco. I think that he's good for LU, and in the end, I believe he'll do what's best for the program.
