There's no way you switch your base defense up in the middle of the season.

I missed the show, but what they're saying is a possibility of him being a DE. That would mean our lineup would be this:

DE: Vince Redd
NG: Colin Dugan
DE: Steve Ackley
OLB: Ian Childress
ILB: Stevie Ray Lloyd
ILB: Nick Hursky
OLB: Brandon Duke
CB: Kent Hicks
S: Ryan Greiser
S: Pat Dickerson
CB: Pat Calvary

That would instantly make our defensive line (the part of our defense with the most question marks) better, and our linebackers are so deep that they would still be a solid core.

It could all be speculation. Coach could've just been teasing everyone. I guess we won't know til Saturday. Either way, I've got a feeling they'll do whatever's best for the team.

Whats truly crazy is Proto and I were talking about Vince to DE at the last game because he is much more effective as a pass rusher than covering a 4th wideout. If this move is true i think its a very smart adjustment because then he is either jamming a tight end off the line or wearing out the offensive lineman on either side. I just wish we would have done this a game earlier!

I know it is being promoted in the local paper. Although, its only a 2x2 size.

According to last week's depth chart, Ian Childress is the backup. He's got 4 tackles on the year, one for a loss, and an interception.

He's a big dude, too, he's taller than I am and I'm 6'4ish (I would go by program height but we know how that is)

He's just not a "big" guy, although he is strong.

And he's in my History of Sport class, lol.

I haven't really promoted this show yet on this web-site for various reasons....And I haven't posted anything in any other thread besides the tailgating thread because I can't...But after reading all weekend. it seems like everybody wants to speculate and that's your right as a fan and since everybody has so many questions and is wondering what Coach is thinking or what he is going to do...Why don't you not ask him tomorrow night??
