Are you serious? Even if you are legal? Hey, Jesus served wine at the last supper...

Jesus was also known to break a religous rule or two every now and then.

You're a Liberty fan and don't even know the rules of the school?

And yet he was without sin...he was basically calling out the Pharisees, Saducees and scribes for their "holier than thou religiosity" and legalism...but before this discussion goes hopelessly...

:offtopic

I would like to say that the last time Elon and LU got together if Im not mistaken...LU won by about 10 points

Yeah. It's a futile debate at this stage. Honestly the policy only affects students older than 21 and by then they've lived there for 3 years under it.

It's like a policy on a job site. You may not agree with the policy but you follow it b/c it came with the job.

Some of LU's policies aren't 100% purely based on biblical reasoning. This is one of them. This one is more like "The Broken Window" philosophy used by Gulianni to clean up NYC. He figured if you keep the very small things from getting out of control you will keep the atmosphere to where the big problems don't have room to develop. So far I think we can look at the campus and our area of the city and say that it's been an effective take on handling thousands of students with hardly any major problems.

That said, I still say that biblically a LOT of alum I know personally do not believe there is a biblical reason not to drink alcohol and many of them are Pastors of churches. At the end of the day I spoke up just so that our guests have a proper view of our policy and not pigeon-hole the alumni or students under the school's policy. I appreciate the school's policy but not for biblical reasons, more for practical reasons of maintaining a safe and positive vibe on campus. Alcohol is not required to have a fulfilling college experience.

The rules are good in that they help to keep a sense of order--but anyone who claims that they don't break them is being untruthful. Finding your way around rules is a way of life at LU.

Please do not every presume to speak for anyone else, because you are quite wrong. There are plenty of people who were and are a-okay with following the rules for the duration of their education at LU.

I didn't see anyone say they haven't broken them. everyone makes mistakes, but no one with a brain that is a current student is going to come on here and talk about what they've done.

Nope, sure don't, well at least not ALL of them. Last time I checked, fans didn't need to abide by the rules of the school, so I haven't made it a priority to read them.

Personally, I like the idea that alcohal is not allowed on campus. It's one of the really unique things about LU that I really appreciate.

Having said that, our earlier conversation was in the context of moderation... as an Elon grad invited LU's to have a couple of beers...

This thread is about football, not the rules.

As for the rule of drinking, I'm the one person that 99% of this board thinks would break it, and I've never drank a day in my life.

No one said that you did---but you don't have to act like a pansy either.

Now back to football....

nope, your not doing that again. you can't call someone a pansy then change the subject. if you are calling me a pansy, how about instead of calling names and changing the subject you grow a pair and say what you want to say

JDUB

I wasn't referencing "pansy" directly on you--but in general--a collective thought of fear of a school rule.

In other words--you don't have to confess all of your misdeeds on this site--but no one (not you in particular, but everyone in general) needs to go the other way and get all swishy about it.

Again, nothing personal..

Or a respect for the rules of the institution that you attend. Oh yea, that whole verse in the Bible of following the rules of the land as well thing kinda is being a pansy isn't it.

Oh yea, and the fact that when you break the rule, you get put on probation and fined out the butt, along with community service.

We got rid of Shuk, now we just have to get rid of you and the IQ of this board would go up like crazy.

Well, how long ago was that?

I'd say that Elon is pretty darn good based on their relatively close score with an above average 1-A South Florida team. I think that the score was something like 28-13.

Sounds like personal problem.

You know, there's support available at the counceling center that can help you with your anger management problem. You may want to give it a try

Once again, now back to some football.

Based on their first two games Elon looks pretty good and they have every right to expect to win this game. Why shouldn't they?

Im not saying they shouldn't expect to win this game. Riddle has shown that he can step in and do very well. I just don't want everybody to go into this thinking LU ha no shot because they obviously have beaten them before. Not to mention, that team was a very average LU team tha twon 3 years ago. This is a new team and Im sure Coach Rocco will have thos eboys ready to play from the word go.

ok this thread has gone way off topic since we are talking about beer and the liberty way, and though i like the banter a philosophical discussion belongs in the courtyard. let's take it there.
