If you've ever heard Munson from UGA, you'd never complain about Edwards. I heard some UGA broadcasts and I'd like to give him a "hobnailed boot" everytime I hear him say it.

Munson is great at what he does. I turn on the Dawgs on the tv and put it on mute just to hear munson call the game. Homerisim is just a small part of what makes these kind of games so great to listen to. I can't say I've ever listened to JE on the radio so I have no opinion on him, but from what ya'll are saying it sounds like the guy finally got excited in the box. let him go do what he does. if you don't like the announcing... go watch the game cast with no sound online!

He was the only choice this week there was no live stats or gamecast.

I think it was wonderful that Jerry actually cared, I always found him a such a kind man, and when he see's this injustice, I was glad he stuck up for his team.. I woul have had the head set off, and been fired, so to me he was not overly one-sided, I feel like he called it as he saw it. AA. It is so great that these guys care..

Jerry Edwards is one of the most balanced announcers I have ever heard. I really like listening to him on the radio...I really don't think I could have got through the Hankinson basketball and Karcher football years without Jerry. We'd be losing by 35...and he just kept announcing...It was almost like therapy.

I think he should get license to get excited and upset about a call on the air. Now if he does it all the time...then it's over the top and unprofessional...but every once in a while makes it seem all the more genuine.

He's paid to paint a picture. If I'm listening on a neutral station the picture should be "just the facts maam" but if I'm listening on a radio station that serves a particular fan base I want them to paint that picture for the fan who cannot be at the game themselves. Give me emotion, tell me how you see it. Call the game but don't just give me data, give me feeling. Put me in the seat next to you. If getting ticked at calls can do that, great. It's better than the opposite. As idealistic as it sounds, no one listens for just the data. If that were the case you'd just read the paper the next day. We all listen b/c we wish we could be there so we rely on that announcer's eyes and voice to put us in the seat.

JE's the man. I think he's very fair about our opponets performance and usually applauds excellence regardless of whose team it is. I listen to the other teams radio announcers and most are no where as fair. It's ok to be biased as long as you are also fair. Also , could you have broadcast a 1000 games over 30 years and still be as good as Jerry? I used to be amazed at him during bb games. Just him ,a tablet and a mike and not making many mistakes. Also, remember this is not his full time job. In addition to his EARLY morning radio show he's the GM of WRVL. Also, how many Sunday mornings is he not at Church and used to be the primary teacher of a class. Also, he's just a great guy. Well done good and faithful servant.

That's why I despise Mike Tirico, who gets enthusiastic over everything when announcing. I can't stand him.

I LOVE Jerry E. He has a great voice. I am not too wound up in the homer non homer debate. I just want the quality to be there and I think he does bring that in all the sports he covers. I will toss criticism at his co hort again this year. For starters, he STILL sounds like Tom Daschle and has even LESS enthusiasm then JE does. (Of course I like JE's level of excitment etc) I was wondering if they ever sit down and practice calling games together. JE has been calling for years as a solo act so I am sure it is difficult to get used to another body in the booth. BUT, if you are going to do color to JE's pxp then for the love of Pete man use something other than GREY!!! Do we have a Red Bull sponsorship? Can we tape delay by a few seconds his comments then speed them up? He does have a few good things to say, but ..........

As an up and coming broadcaster I try to learn a lot from listening to Jerry, and FSN (who btw does not come around much anymore I noticed) and GMTM and Numbah1 and try to at the very least emulate the good things in their styles while still developing my own broadcast style. I mean if I ever broadcast for a certain team, Id WANT to be excited when they did good things. Of course if this was say, ESPN Radio or some other national sports broadcast outlet then Id want to be equally excited for both sides.
