Look we are ALL passionate about the program or we wouldn't be here. Some of us will always be more involved than others. I don't see why how involved you are gives you a bigger right to your opinion. That is one of my issues with this forum at times. Those who are in the know or more involved feel that they are more capable to form an opinion than the rest of us. Let me assure you that my opinions (which have obviously been very mild almost centrist compared to some) come from being at the 1st game in person and watching the second one on TV. I am as involved as I can be at this moment and plan to get more involved in the future, but we are all different. I wish some would hold off on the I know more than you because I stick out my neck for the program more than you attitude.

I agree...but that doesn't give you the right to say the rest of us "could care less about LU Football" because that is completely not true...just because someone disagrees doesn't mean they don't care about LU athletics....I think that is the statement that really fired people up

I'm not saying everyone can be involved as some of us. The two things that ticked me off were when Steve said none of us care and the other chick said it was easy for us to be very supportive. Those two things are so far from the truth it isn't even funny.

Again, my post has been completely misinterpreted. The point of pointing out these things was because Stevev said that we didn't care at all about the football program! It was NOT meant to point out that anyone was a bigger fan than anyone else. It was simply said to make evident how ludicrous Stevev's statement that we didn't care at all was.

This little tiff is mild compared to what gets said on talk radio here in AL every day about UA and AU by their own fans. Again I say a little conflicting opinion and passionate response is a good thing. It means more folks are paying attention and care about our team. This is a step toward our program being relevant to more than just us diehards.

I like it. Keep in coming. There have been many years when the team would have loved for fans to say anything about them.

Sorry you got ticked off SJ, but the intent of that post was to basically say that the extra things that some of you are able to do that some of us do not have the time to do (or can't do...), should not warrant us having less respect on this board. I understand that it's not EASY to do all of the things that many of you all do, but it may be easier in a sense for you to do it than others. If you weren't able to do it, then you wouldn't be doing right? And that may not mean you are any less of a fan. You--nor any of us for that matter--have no idea what is going on in everyone elses lives, and vice versa--so no one can condemn anyone else for not contributing as much as the other nor should they throw what they do or have done in someone elses face, IMO. We know what you do and we know who the main contributors to the board are--any blind man can see that . Obviously, we all reap the benefits of your, and others, hard work for this board, including the various posts, videos, etc. BUT we must remember what the true purpose of this forum is, and that is to express our opinions.

Very true. Very well said too. It could be that I am 20 years older than a lot of these guys so I can take the abuse that is given out from time to time but in the end I am sure things will work out. It appears that some people feel entitled to bash others simply because they put in more time with the program. That is not the way to be. I guess I am old enough to realize that it is just talk and go on with more important things in life.

i have no problem with steve or anyone else who has other responsibilties and can't make it to games. the problem is when they speak like they've been watching every game and supporting the team, then say the rest of us don't care. lets get something straight. we care. i work about 20 a week on top of 15 credit hours, my g/f is in the hospital and i've been back and forth there, and guess what? I'm still going to the freakin W&M game. I care. after all the hours i work, i am still in the negative every week, mainly because of football. but you know what? i don't care about that, I'm tapping my savings just so i can support this program. I care.
I have no problem with you expressing your opinion, but DO NOT act like you support this program more or care more or have seen them play more or anything. i truly believe that you do really care about this program, or else you wouldn't be on here arguing about it. I'm glad you support the program, and i hope you continue too. just realize that there are other people out there besides you who actually watch the team and have a small inkling of an idea what there talking about, and you probably shouldn't call them out on not caring and act like you know more than them.

YOU are the one who said that we didn't care. The only reason any of that got posted was because of YOU and your criticism of us as fans, which has nothing to do with your opinions of the football program. You said we didn't care and when evidence to the contrary was posted, you say we're bashing you. Instead of apologizing for it, you just backtracked and said it wasn't directed at anyone, when it obviously was.

I think what has been illustrated on the board is something that is taught in college business courses--be careful of how you word the things when writing because you never know how it may be interpreted by someone else...This whole thread was started (or appears) in a "matter of fact" manner in terms of its title, so a debate was inevitable. I vote we change the title of the thread to a more positive one like: "Offensive Player of the Game vs. Shippensburg" AND delete all of the negative posts and say how proud we are of Brock's improvement from Game 1 to Game 2
