He asked about the receivers, and then redshirts. Coach named 1 guy who would not be redshirted (a LB) and 2 that are possibilities for the same. Summers was one of the names. However it seemed there was a receiver ahead of him. Sly?

Sorry but I just got the kids to bed and now I'm checking the board. Somebody back at the station dropped my call just as I was going to ask about the receivers situation and Summers in particular. But I dialed back in and went directly to whose redshirts were coming off this weekend and who else might be coming off soon. He said Pat Bannon was definitely playing Saturday and Thursday they would have a meeting to discuss a couple other players including Summers. He kept bringing up Cedric Sanderson alongside Summers as a big freshman receiver who could play this fall.

I only was able to catch snippets of the show due to family business. But it sounded like a good turnout and a great start of the season.

Taking the redshirt off of these guys is one thing, but with all due respect to Auntie, the QB's gotta be able to play with confidence and get catchable passes with good timing to these targets in order for it to really payoff (otherwise it could waste a year of eligibility for these guys.)

Now, it seems from everyone's obervation of the camp as well as going on the tail end of last season that the current QB seems to be settling in...hopefully, it will pan out the way all Flamesfan wish it to...a balanced attack that will allow the passing game to be consistent and even break a good number of big plays in the air in order to alleviate the pressure on the run to open some big yardage breaks there...

I listened to the whole show yesterday in the office before I headed home. Great to hear JB & Rocco talk about the football program & facilities. JB said we are the only I-AA program in the country to have those temporary skyboxes!

It's During Rocco's answer to Randy from Houston's question: at roughly 46:30 into the mp3 Randy says about Summers being special and then asks coach if he is someone he is considering pulling the red shirt off of. Rocco's answer: "Yea, I'm considering it." He elaberates after that. At 47:46 he says: "A couple other guys that are under consideration is Chris Summers."
