There will be fines....drivers drop F bombs all the time...but they aren't played live....Somebody must have not been listening to the audio, because they had about 30 secs to decide whether or not they wanted to use any of the audio....It will cost somebody a job..

a nice win for juan pablo. hendrick also has two in the top ten with the 24 finishing 7th. im thinking of buying all the hendrick haters on this board a box of tissues and some pacifiers....get over it people!! when your teams actually start winning and do the homework to get ahead then you may get in victory lane! we will just have to wait and see about any penalties to the 24 and the 48.

I will take that box of tissues but only because I have allergy problems. I am happy for Juan second minority to win NASCAR ever. I always get him confused witht the guy from 'The Princess Bride' and go around saying "My name is Jaun Pablo Montoya, you killed my father - prepare to die!"

congrats to denny on a good run. the two tire stop proved to be the difference. he finally created his own breaks instead of whining about always having the best car and not winning. way to step up denny. and to all the hendrick haters.....eat it the 24 finishes 2nd and the 48 finishes 5th. so much for the demise after losing their crew chiefs!

so you're admitting that cheating is prevelant thru the ENTIRE Hendrick organization, and merely eliminating 1 or 2 crew chiefs won't matter?

yup- I agree :nod

wrong again! it does not matter who the chief is. they are still dominant. im sure NASCAR was heavily scrutinizing those garages and the fact they finished 2nd and 5th speaks to how good of drivers they are. and as libertine said if youaint cheating you aint trying. all teams cheat, it is just who gets caught.

hey tim you mean "winning". all you haters get over it. i do not know of ONE driver who has not complained at one point in thier career. funny thing is you haters cant give one of the top 3 or 4 drivers all time any credit. tells me how much you guys really know about racing. i will keep laughing every week at you haters as the 24 continues to dominate.

what a great race! full of teammates feuding, teammates not helping each other, and a spectacular finish! congrats to jamie mc murray on a great run. and again the "cheaters" finished 5th and 10th and hendrick had 3 in the top 10. it will be interesting how smoke and denny hamlin get along this week after the wreck, as well as the hendrick boys as i thought both the 24 and 48 left kyle busch out to dry in the last few laps. but i do think when you get to that stage it is every man for his own.on a side note i really liked the wide open coverage with the commercials on the bottom of the screen. i hope that fox and espn pick that up.

agreed

Indy or F1 does that split screen for commercials and I've always liked it.

great to see the short guy bring the 26 home first! WOW, what a long time for that team- finally turning the corner I think.

Good day for Roush at a Chevy track, too- 3 outta the top 6 I believe.

looks like the Shrub has less friends now that he's on borrowed time- that Hendrick gang are real bloodsuckers

Brings back memories of how Brian Vickers got treated.

Great race indeed...I think you will see more of the Wide Open type coverage...Also, I found it interesting that Tony just took Denny under the bus and just dogged him....Maybe we will see some pushing next week, like what we saw in the IRL today....

I'd hope that Papa Joe steps in and lets Denny and Tony know what's up. I doubt he was pleased with his two stars taking each other out so early.

well smoke finally breaks his drought, but the 24 has another strong run and pads his point lead. i do like the balance this race with hendrick, penske and roush having two drivers apiece in the top 10. childress had three teams. chicagoland is a good track. and a fun race.

the medic should be happy! probably no more engine deals with hendrick and possibly taking over the 8.
DEI, Ginn to merge operations
By Dustin Long
The Roanoke Times

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Inc. is adding Mark Martin to its driver roster and growing immediately to four Nextel Cup teams in a merger with Ginn Racing that is expected to be announced on Wednesday, the Charlotte Observer has learned.

DEI and Ginn employees were told Tuesday that Martin's No. 01 team will compete under the DEI banner in Sunday's Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In a separate deal, sources said, DEI officials have talked with Martin about driving the No. 8 Chevrolet next season. That car is being vacated by Dale Earnhardt Jr. at season's end.

Martin and Almirola join Earnhardt Jr., Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 1 and Paul Menard in the No. 15 in the DEI stable.

Menard will assume the owner points from Ginn's No. 14 team, guaranteeing a spot in Sunday's race as one of the top 35 in owner points.

Marlin and Joe Nemechek, driver of Ginn's No.13 Chevrolet, were released last week because of lack of sponsorship. The No. 13 team has been folded.

The expected deal leaves a number of unanswered questions, foremost among them the status of driver Regan Smith.

Smith, who began the season sharing the No. 01 with Martin, was to drive the No. 14 for the rest of the season, beginning this weekend.

Bobby Ginn will remain listed as team owner this season for Nos. 01 and 15, but his future in the series, which started with great fanfare in January, remains uncertain.

Sources said that during the next few weeks officials from DEI and Ginn Racing will work out details on the use of facilities and on which employees will be retained.

Another question concerns the likely end of Ginn's engine lease deal with Hendrick Motorsports.

Hendrick officials were unavailable late Tuesday for comment.

wow!

had head under rock today and never heard about this one!

great move by DEI to bring on the man- though I don't know if things will ever be the same without little E over there.

be great to see Mark have a competetive team again.

smoke is clearly the hottest driver right now. it took that spinout form the 24, but still tony had a good ride. denny hamlin shows his real colors again by saying he should have taken the 24 out as heard over the radio. boy that would have cost him points had he done so.

Last week?

Joe Gibbs' guys cleaned up today. Stewart in first and Hamlin in second. The Rainbow Warrior had the lead but spun out with four to go. Carl Edwards had second but spun out on the last lap.

I am a bit surprised kyle is going to gibbs. he is the third driver just like he was at hendrick. i thought DEI would be a better fit.
Kyle Busch set for Tuesday introduction to Gibbs Racing
By Nate Ryan, USA TODAY
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Joe Gibbs Racing will welcome Kyle Busch into the fold for the 2008 season with a news conference Tuesday morning at its shop in Huntersville, N.C. With the driver set for the No. 18, the team now must settle on tying up sponsors and a manufacturer for Busch's car.
JGR President J.D. Gibbs said there was no deadline for deciding whether the team will extend its 16-year relationship with General Motors.

"We had great conversations with GM over the past month," Gibbs said. "We're not even to the point of saying, 'Hey, what's the deadline?' "

Gibbs wouldn't comment on whether he'd talked with Toyota, which wants to expand its seven-car lineup to 11 or 12 in the next few seasons. Toyota Racing Development General Manager Lee White said the manufacturer didn't have a deal with JGR but had talked to the team.

White wouldn't rule out adding cars for '08 but said the manufacturer would need to make tremendous strides before adding a title-caliber team. None of the seven Camrys are in the top 35 in points.

"Over the past four years, we have had discussions at some level with almost every team with the exception of Jack Roush," White said. "Every Dodge and Chevrolet team has talked to us about what ifs. We don't have a deal with anybody beyond the teams that we have.
