2006 (Jr.): Saw playing time all 11 games … finished the year with 11 tackles, including seven solo stops and four assisted tackles … also recorded his second career sack for 16 yards against No. 24 Charleston Southern, helping the Flames pick up their first win over a nationally-ranked team since 1997 … added two pass break ups and quarterback hurry … returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown against VMI, becoming the first Flame since 2004 to return a fumble for a touchdown … had a season-high three tackles against Gardner-Webb … added two solo tackles against Glenville State … had single stops against St. Paul’s, Savannah State, Wake Forest, Coastal Carolina, Western Carolina and Charleston Southern.

2005 (So.): Saw playing time in eight games and started the last two contests of the year … finished the year with 18 total tackles, including 12 solo stops and six assisted tackles … ranked fifth on the team with 4.0 tackles for a loss (11 yards) … recorded single tackles against Youngstown State, Towson and No. 14 Coastal Carolina … three tackles, including two assisted stops and a tackle for a loss of five yards against Gardner-Webb … four solo stops against Charleston Southern … finished the year strong with a season-high eight tackles, including five solo stops, two tackles for a loss of seven total yards and a quarterback hurry at Norfolk State.

2004 (Fr.): Saw playing time in nine games as a true freshman … finished the season with five tackles, including two solo stops and three assisted tackles … also added one kickoff return against No. 18 William & Mary … two assisted tackles against Charleston Southern … two tackles, including a solo tackle at VMI … one solo tackle at Chattanooga.

Prep: Graduated from Heritage High School … four-year letterwinner … helped Heritage to an undefeated season as a sophomore … guided the Pioneers to a AA State Championship as a junior, finishing the season with a perfect 14-0 record in Division 4 … finished the state championship game with 178 yards receiving and two touchdowns, bringing his season total to 19 touchdown receptions on the year … averaged 27.1 yards per catch as a senior along with 14 touchdowns and was named to the first-team all-district and honorable-mention all-region teams … helped Heritage to a Seminole District Championship as a senior … all-time assists leader in Heritage school history in basketball … helped the Pioneers to a Seminole District and Regional championship in 2003 … AA State Champion in track in 2002 … recipient of the VHSL Academic Excellence award.

Fans will get to hear about the excitement surrounding Vince Redd and the new leadership roll of Stevie Ray Lloyd, who has stepped up since the graduation of Manny Rojas. Wimberly speaks on the strong play of Brandon Duke and Nick Hursky, as well as, a few up-an-comers expected to see time behind the experience pre-mentioned four.

I listened to the interview. Coach Wimberly is a great talker but I was hoping he would go into more detail about the backups and freshmen. There is more to the backups than Tinsley and ODonnell. What about Terry Adams, Bannon, Connolly, Davis, and the new transfer Balde. I would think that Terry Adams would be the guy to look out for this year and in the future.

Could it be that he is not there due to the fact that he was not in spring ball. He will have to work his way up. I have Childress, Tinsley, and ODonnell as the second level for now. The starting linebackers are pretty much set.
