I'm doing the campus legend, and signed with Miami. I'm in D.C. right now, brought the game with me, but the tv doesn't have any audio/video inputs!!!

Hey pending approval from the powers that be, that looks great to me. We plan on having a tent, 4 grills, 2 long tables, and tv....yes, that's right. One of the guys in our crew has a tv in his car and gets the major channels clearly, so this will come in handy for the first few games at 7PM. Of course everyone is welcome to come watch and hangout. We'll have some music too, and I am praying for a place we can play horseshoes. Let me know SJ if there is anything I need to do to get permission to park in that lot. I'll take care of the SFC membership when I get back up there in a week or so, that should give us the parking passes we need, a guarantee to the spot every week though would be tremendous. Anything I can do to help -- just let me know.

i just got off the phone with bob good, and they too were surprised about the sidewalk. they did not know it was happening. bob is going to get back with me on the sidewalk deal and tell me if we can have it partially blocked. also not unless you are at the $250 level in the flames club can you park in upper p-1, it is lower p-1 only. so i doubt that you could tailgate in the grassy areas/new sidewalk area unlees you are at that level. bob said though if demand is not high for those areas student flame club members could possibly get parking spots. more to come when i hear from bob.

thanks for checking into that SMOOTHIE.

that really presents a problem though- its going to be physically impossible to tailgate BETWEEN the sidewalk and parking areas. We're talking about a matter of approx 5-6 feet there. Hopefully the admin will come up with a workable solution.

keep us posted

bob good called me at 7:30 last night to tell me that we can set up at our old location. they ask that we move things back off the sidewalk before we go to the game though so that the post game crowd can filter out easily. i would think that the pre-game rush would be the same way, but i could be wrong. obviously we have better visibility there, but i kinda lean to the spot near the lloyd's. i will bring this up...what about the grass are in front of hancock?? we could still get our parking spots and walk across the street. also plenty of room for games. i may be wrong but the SFC is not having their pre-game tent anymore right?? this would also give dwhite's group room too.

The only problem with that is that the cars can't really be used if they're across the street as a couple of different groups were planning on using them for power.

they could if we could get some parking spaces alongside that road in front of hancock which is not designated, but may take some work, plus extension cords

Man, these are great times indeed...I never remembered folks getting THIS excited or detailed over tailgating an LU football game...Frankly I do not care where teh FF.com tailgate is as long as there are good food, great friends, and folks who will not laugh at me for only being able to play Medium difficulty on Guitar Hero because I dislocated my finger catching a football last fall and couldn't use it to play the blue fret because it hurt too much.

Personally, I'd rather stay in the parking lot somewhere. That just seems a whole lot easier to me. In the end, I'll go wherever everyone else wants to go though.

Sorry...I tend to go off on tangents when I write. The crux of my post was I do not care where we tailgate. The Guitar Hero and dislocated finger reference just randomly popped into my head as I typed.

from what i'm hearing our old spot won't be available in October at all. i was told today that a big chunk of upper P-1 is having groundbreaking for the new bookstore in September. I don't know if thats definite or not, but there are definitely plans in place to make it happen

sounds like we need to have a delegate sit with Bob Goode when they redesign the tailgating areas for the '08 season.

I'm sure they are anxiously awaiting our opinions

so they are looking to build the new bookstore in upper P-1 now?? removing all that parking??? This is just not good news at all, if it is true

Yeah, what's the deal with the bookstore? This is the first I've heard of it going over there. I'm not worried about the parking, because if they're taking away some then there are bound to be plans for more parking.

It's not a big deal if they got rid of that. Most good sized schools, you have to park somewhere far away and take a shuttle in. Say hello to the TRBC lot.

It's supposed to be going in the corner of Upper P1 where Mr. Lloyd tailgates.

Will it just be placed over current pavement, or will it take up some grass?
