The way our ladies have been playing, the only BSC team capable of beating them is the one in the red, white and blue unis, and they've look too focused lately to beat themselves. It has happened before though, where we played down to the level of the competition and lost games we shouldn't.

Only up by a point 4 minutes into the second half. Megan hits a 3 to make the lead 4. Then a layup to make it 6. 32-26.

We won 58-41. I think I heard Jamie say that Megen scored 31.

I believe the correct score was 58-51. I listened to the whole game. Very ugly is how I would describe it. We just could never seem to put them away. We would a good lead as much as 10 and then they would go on a run and really challenge us. It might have been not playing since last week and we were out of synce but maybe it was the Rick Reeves getting his team fired up. Megan really carried us and Avery and Moriah came on late to give us a little push and held them off. Surprised by the second chances that they got and they got quit a few inside buckets. Didn't go too deep in our bench but it is nice to get the win on one of our "off nights"

I was disappointed when I heard today that Rick Reaves refused to shake Meghan's hand after the game. Reeves said she was a dirty player. IMO, he needs to accept the fact he ran away from Liberty for the money and it didn't work out the way he thought.

That's really disappointing to hear. Megan is extremely strong and plays more like a guy than most women, but I've never seen her do anything I would call dirty. They were undefeated at home, and he obviously wanted the game badly. His team played well, but Megen was too much for them. Guess he couldn't handle it and had to make an excuse.

Reeves is an OK coach, but you can argue that he did us a huge favor by leaving LU. To say that we have "upgraded" would IMHO be an understatement. What i didn't know is that apparently it was an upgrade in class as well as coaching.

I am pretty neutral on RR. Is there more evidence than "I heard........." I am sure no one here would put something on the thread they knew for sure to be wrong, but how sure are you that this is fact? Sometimes things take on a life of their own.

I would count her dad as a legitimate source.

I would agree with that as well. I know for a fact that the triplets visited and were recruited by G-W, don't know if RR was a part of that or not, but believe he was. I also got it from a VERY reliable source that G-W believed that only one of the girls was a real D-1 player and felt they were going to get only 1 player for 3 schollies. (Of course that was only a couple of days after LU signed them).

Thanks for the clarification H'fan.

There were a lot of D1 schools, including some elite programs, who wanted Megan, but weren't interested in Molly or Moriah. We had just lost a monster Senior class, (including Katie), and needed numbers as well as height, so coach Green was willing to take a chance on all 3. Along with the Frazees being so compatable with the Liberty mission, it was a "perfect storm" in our favor.

flameshaw ... it wasn't just Gardner-Webb. Just about everyone who was interested in Megan wanted only Megan. With scholarship limitations, not many major conference schools would take a flier on all three, especially if they felt Moriah and Molly weren't top-notch players. So yeah, Liberty was a little lucky in that regard. It played out just about the way most would have expected. Megan was thought to be an impact player right away, and she was. Moriah and Molly were seen more as projects, and neither really their strides until they were juniors.

As oldflame says, perfect storm. That's about right.

Why does this surprise anyone? GW is a breeding ground for any disgruntled former LU employee to go...this is why I said what I did in the MBBl thread about how I'd go to the boys GW game if Reeves, Phillips (who said something after JF's death that made me wish I was a woman so I could handle it myself) and others were behind their bench...what makes me cringe is people still support these people after acts such as this...this isnt the first time things like this has happened, its just the first time they've been made public....they're jerks

The only thing Meghan did was try and pump up her team...whatever though

One correction though HF Reeves left b/c he knew he was a average coach (at best) and it wouldnt get much better then he just had...look at his record before the big 3 which the best one of that group he had nothing to do with

Oh and this did happen, although I heard from a coach that he only shook CG's hand and nobody on the team...whatever doesnt matter, he's still a first class jerk

I have been a fan of women's bball since before they were champs and I watched Coach Reeves in action. He is extremely intense and demands perfection, but a "jerk" he will never be! GW has gotten closer to beating us each time that we have played and they don't have the talent that we do. It must come down to coaching! Coach Reeves is the reason that team is what it is today! Let's show "class" and gratitude to the man who started it all. Now Coach Green has done his share to keep it going...but all the hard work was done by Reeves.

Believe me I'm showing class by stopping at the word jerk...the man your talking about is classless and proved it after the game...whats the excuse for him doing that??? I'm sure you've seen our players and I'm sure you've seen them in the community and how they act when nobody's watching...dirty or players without character dont even belong in the same paragraph as our girls team...starting with the man of class himself CG
