Not me. But a real reflection on where we are. Not a spam but the rhetoric from many is a scam.

Surely the powers that be have to realize that it's time for a change. The track we are on concerning basketball is not working.

yes we are bad and yes we will get a new coach next year. I love Dale Layer and I wish it would've worked out for him here but it just isn't. There hasn't been any good choices for this program since.....I will let Purple fill in the blank

Your frustration is shared michaeleyou...the issue most of us have is the fact that the fellow that posted above you (and his cronies) have made a point to reference the last coach to get us a Big South title because they (or maybe he...it could be the same person running all those accounts) continually bring up said coach and how bitter they are about his being removed from the position, something that has garnered much unhappiness from the majority of the board community and led to some very heavyhanded admin action (which could be coming at some point if IMBach continues down the path of the others)

(for the record PH usually invokes the name of the OTHER coach who gave us a Big South title when IMBach's friend is mentioned by name)

Sounds to me like you may need to join Lance Armstrong on Oprah and admit to your folly. This program has dropped off the planet....and you turn it into an issue against a coach who was consistently building a winning BSC program. I for one am not bitter but I am a realist. As one local very successful and influential business recently told me that LU has never had the local key money people in the Vines like RD had in his last season. He has not bothered to return. Obviously somebody sold a direction that was taken us to where we are. Your blame game tactic solves nothing.

to drop off would mean we had a tradition of excellence. Excellence and Liberty's men's bball program has never gone together. You need to put together longer than 1 championship season in order to be a good PROGRAM.

You and all your "friends" can live in your dream world, but this program has always been terrible.

Actually it is funny how the few of you who staunchly defend the handling of the programs turn the dialogue on others who see it diferently. I for one love LU and truly believe we can be a difference maker in numerous more lives with these program. If the program had repeated RD's success most you would singing "hail to the chief"! Interesting days are ahead. Praying for JLFjr's wisdom!

RD had plenty of time to build on his championship season instead he contributed to the reasons this program has sucked for so long. It's funny that you think otherwise

please, just ignore these drones everytime they pop up. If we would all just ignore them they every single thread wouldn't turn back to the same ol garbage. I'll say these, the blind loyal 7 followers or so that RD had really are loyal and hard core to still be pushing this crap. So please, just stop responding to them, the program is and has been a joke for a long time including Dunton years, end of story.

Wow, this is ridiculous. It is amazing the number of new posters that pop up with the same message. They have nothing else to say about the school or the university except to bring up the past. I'm glad that I have limited internet access here in Costa Rica.

"...building a winning program..." can be done in more ways than one. And as an alum, I'm concerned not just with winning, but the way in which winning is achieved. I, for one, was thrilled a change was made when it was.

After some PM's and a little research I have a little better understanding on the voices crying out on ff. With some being past and possibly current athletics employees their bias of the facts is understandable. Like I said earlier I am not looking for a fight and don't argue by nature however I do understand business. The AD was new and looking for a splash. The administration doubled down with $$$. For some to blame a coach who resurrected us from the Hankinson project to the greatest basketball day in Vines Center history is hilarious. Six years into the direction there is a pretty self evident track record of expenses and results. But hey this is a message board what more should one expect.

You say you understand business, which may or may not be true. What is crystal clear is that you don't understand the BUSINESS of collegiate athletics. One simply can't place a consumer business template over a collegiate athletic department. Simply put, if you did, most schools would not have an athletic Department, including Liberty, because the bleed money. You would not have any Women's athletics or 'Olympic Sports' in the programs that remain for the same reason. Players would go to the highest bidder and GPA's and graduation rates would be even more irrelevant than they are now.
Further, to say we experienced 'the greatest basketball day in Vines Center history' is hyperbole on lines with your disproved attendance figure for that same event. Was it a good day? Sure. Great day? Sure. Greatest? I can think of others.
Finally, where someone works or worked is also irrelevant. There are a good number of current employees on this board but so what? Few, if any are touting this season as a success. Why you fault them, or anyone, for giving the benefit of the doubt to the current coach and hoping for success only shows your bias and the fact you are truly a one trick pony. Or in this case a one trick poster.

I think the only staff that posts here at this point is BJ. And he was a super homer before he even worked for the school. So your informant is incorrect.

There is a reason why we call them revenue and non-revenue sports. I understand why you create campus spirit and activities. However when you invest to the degree LU has on last five years I would think someone is evaluating. Secondly where one works or has worke is very relevant. There is usually office politics in play and your source of income influences perspectives. I have wished ill of no coach and praised performance when it was noteworthy unlike some on here when a coach finishes 1 or 2 in three of five seasons in a D1 conference. But what would one expect from a message board other than a vatiety of self acclaimed experts. Let's hope for a home win over Longwood!

IMBach, ToC, et al: I am a fan of Liberty who, when your man was let go, was upset and felt that there wasn't justification for it. Admittedly, I was no more than a casual fan who kept up with the team through news reports and attended games only occasionally. So, I had no insight into the insides of the program. I moved on after a while and wanted the team to succeed, regardless of who was running the program. I never had ill feelings toward RD (Jeff Meyer, for Haize) but now I cringe at the sound of his name or even his initials. Why? YOU!!! and your ilk. You have destroyed his character more than you can know, all while supposedly supporting him. Not by bashing him but by being the most narrow-minded and ignorant posters on this board. Just wanted to you know how your posts are affecting those of us who had no bad feelings toward him and were pretty objective.

ps. LUconn - who do you think PM'd him? My money is on BJ.
