Sounds like a PR statement for "I know whats inside that can, dont open it."

amazing...i heard through the grapevine that he was getting some blame by those you mentioned (not grm) but I couldnt in my wildest imagination figure out how (TBGBFGB)! That amount of creativity and imagination needed is scary if you can talk yourself into believing that! I only hope for our sake those powers are being used for good and dont go to the dark side (A.G. where are you?)

It was more JB being blamed than McKay.

Johnnie Stephene has NOTHING to do with our APR. NOTHING!!!
There seems to be some kind of implication that he was misled or cheated about his scholarship, which is pure :BS Totally to the contrary, Stephene knew he hadn't qualified yet, and he could not get a schollie if he didn't. Once he found out, nobody held a gun to his head to keep him there. He was promised that if he went to class and got the grades to qualify for next year, there was a scholarship for him. That promise was made good on, even though I suspect they might have had to pass on a better prospect to do it.
I will give you one for being an adamant defender/spinster of every issue. Don't sell as fact that he showed up on campus believing that he wasn't on scholarship and could not play this past season. The relevence is that coaches are going to roll the dice on some student/athletes who they believe will academically progress. Didn't someone on here say the Lewis kid from NC was a non qualifer as well?

It is also well within reason that we would not have any apr issue if the change had not been made. Obviously we didn't have an issue last year.

I guess that would be a little less of a stretch...still though...being new on the job and all the things he had to change and do I'm sure APR didnt seem like a huge issue at the time...but I'm sure if it was done all over it may have been different..but still how long has JB been on the job and how long is APR looked at? Isnt it a year and half for JB or so and APR 3 or 4 years?

The APR is based on a four-year average. We would have had an issue regardless.

Some do...also some truly can talk themselves into believing anything...hence some of the confidence you see in some obscure posts

I was just thinking that although all our Seniors are graduating this year and Holland is supposed to be coming back to finish up, we also have Armon and Soup leaving the program. Let's hope they were keeping up with their grades.

well, hopefully they have the incentive of wanting to play wherever they go.

Like who? We had four seniors. They're all graduating.
Holland leaving the program will have a definite effect.

No it won't. Not if he graduates from Liberty next year like he's planning on.

Does he even have to graduate? I thought it was just as long as he returns w/ a GPA high enough to remain eligibile.

That would be a 1/2 I believe. If he were to go ahead and graduate, I'm pretty sure we would get a 2/2, but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure he would have until Spring of 2010 to graduate (5 years), and it would still be 2/2 if he was eligible when he left the program.

What is a 1/2 then?

I think that would be leaving the program eligible, but not graduating within 5 years. I'm really not sure, but it seems funny that they would allow an athlete 5 years to use their 4 years of eligibility, but expect them to graduate in 4 if they leave.

although, now that I've thought about it, we lost BJ last year and now Brolin and Seth this year. You've got to wonder how many we'll have in 2 years. Thanks Seth. It's nothing against us though, right?
