The combination has worked before in a different venue. Abe Saperstein had a pretty good record. :

The "Little General" held the record for fastest NBA coach to 100 wins for a few years. It has since been broken by Tom Thibideux. He has been out of coaching since being let go by the Nets in 2012. Don't know if he is doing TV commentary now like he did after his stint in Dallas or what.

The College Basketball Ranking Composite, which includes the RPI, Pomeroy, Sagarin, ESPN's BPI, and a whole slew of rankings I'd never heard of before, has Liberty 340. It takes them all and averages them, so one stupid ranking like RPI has minimal impact.

Some big and some good coaches that are at a lower level, but could be good -I've already mentioned it once but I hope we give Dave Davis a consideration. He's the coach at Newberry and has been great everywhere he's coached. He also has a connection to Liberty, albeit a small connection but a connection nonetheless.
Jim Crutchfield - West Liberty. Offensive coach, knows how to win. Coaches Division II.
Dave Davis - Newberry. Coaches Division II. Doesn't move a lot, but plays high tempo offense and wins.
Josh Schertz - Lincoln Memorial University - Division II. Scores, but also ranks high in Defense. Wins.
C.B. McGrath - Assistant at UNC. Been coaching under Williams since he stopped playing and a great recruiter.
Jeff Neubauer - EKU - Been mentioned on here already. Not sure if he would leave EKU for LU.
Michael White - Currently coaching at Louisiana Tech. I would hope we could convince him this would be an upgrade. Great defensive coach.
Rick Stansbury - Was coach MSU, now Assistant at Texas A&M
I don't know if any of the above would fit here at Liberty, but they would be an upgrade, IMO.

I think it's a matter of time before LU is looked at in a very different way. A coach will want to be part of where liberty's going.
