Had the Houghton game not gotten canceled, tonight would've clinched a .500 season.

Tonight did clinch a .500 season.. Houghton would've given us a winning season.
Nope -we have at least one more game and a loss there would drop us below .500.

I'll pass within a mile or 2 of the Winthrop Coloseum on my way back from Charleston today. It's very tempting to call in to work tomorrow and say I had car trouble or something, and I won't be back til Wednesday.

Actually, because of what I do I really need to be at work on the first of the month, so I wouldn't do it even if it didn't involve lying. I doubt if I'll be able to go Tuesday, but I'm going to look into it. At least at WU, getting a ticket shouldn't be a problem.

CSU really does have a tough row to hoe in the Charleston market with subpar facilities and very limited finances. Personally, I think both their football and basketball coaches have done pretty well with what they have to work with. I remember another beach trip I made many years ago, when you needed to read a newspaper to find out what was going on in the world. I checked out the Sports page of the Sunday Charleston fishwrap after our game against CSU, and the article was buried on page 6. Sailing and C of C basketball were on the front page.

Absolutely. One of our best road records ever . We've had championship teams that didn't do that well on the road. The flip side of that coin is we were also 5-4 at the Vines, which is not good enough to get us where we want to go.

PC will be.

VMI will still be VMI.

Like I said, VMI is still VMI. They can lose or win any game based on how well they run their system. Talent only goes so far when you're letting Alex McLean go for 40 and 20.

Presby should be top 4, IMO.

Radford probably won't be.

CCU... maybe?

LU... if someone scores, like Evan did tonight, then yeah, we'll be just fine.

UNCA will be, more than likely.

WU is always up there.

How many teams do you think will be in your Top 4?! Is this like college life cycles, where 5 is the new 4?

I meant regular season.. In my pro-sports mind, I separate the regular season from the post-season :)

True story -- I actually told someone once that I really didn't want to head back to work from vacation, and if I wasn't honest I'd call in with car trouble. Car broke down the next day, and I spent the day sitting waiting for it to be fixed. My wife gave me SOOOO much grief -- "be careful what you wish for" kind of stuff.

I'm seriously considering it, but I would have to get off work at least a couple of hours early to be sure I could get there before 7, and my boss isn't in today to ask. Can't really cut it too close on time because it would involve going through Charlotte at rush hour.

Driving back after is no big deal, even though I need to work Wednesday. Unless it goes OT I can probably be home by about 12:30.
