Gotta start with the person that the most is expected out of, and that's Kyle. Once again, great job limiting turnovers today. He had a positive assist to turnover ratio which hasn't happened much this season. That's an improvement that's been going on the past few games and it's great to see. The amount of free throws he shot was great, and then percentage at the line was even better. Adding in seven rebounds, two blocks, and a steal while only committing one foul is great. However, the shooting percentage still isn't there. Granted, I can't see the shots he's taking so I don't know if he's a) just missing, b) getting guarded extremely well, c) taking back shots, or d) a combination of these three. We know he can shoot the ball so if he is simply just missing, I'm pretty sure he'll come around out of the funk at some point.
I seem to be going to this next person second the past few games which is totally unexpected. Patrick Konan - way to be a player. Yeah, he fouled out but he played well. He had 11 and 5 and shot well from the free throw line. Can't complain much there.
The same can be said for Chris Perez. He's really starting to come around. I really like him coming off of the bench and adding a spark. His shooting percentage was great (80%, 100% from the line). He was positive all the way around. Once again, can't complain much there.
Evan Gordon had an okay game. He had a game that you'd expect a freshman to have at times. He put up some positives - seven points, 100% from the line, three steals. He also had some negatives though - 33% shooting percentage, five turnovers.
Carter was a little disappointing. He didn't play much and I don't know if that's because he wasn't playing well or didn't match up well with what the other team was doing. Without knowing that it's tough to get too critical.
The rest of the guys really didn't do much. Between Johnny, Jeremy, David, and Antwan there were 30 minutes and four points.
It's a win. It's a win against a Division I school. It's a second win in as many days. We're making progress. We're improving. We've got two big games this week against conference opponents. We need to get at least one of them. If we can get both of them we'll set ourselves up in a very good position heading into conference play in January.
