Clemson is ranked 24th for a reason. I am upset that the score is not close but time will tell where this team is and where it is going. I went to the VMI/Richmond game last night and it was UGLY. VMI looked really bad against an average mid major team. Dont get to down over this one.

Anybody want to be scared worse than they are right now? As we know, Presby is not playing all of their decent upperclassmen this year.

They lost 84-41. We're looking at a similar score. Transative blah blah blah, it's worrisome though not scientific.

another TO, makes 24 I believe

we get doubled up and will not get to 40

props to Clemson, they are very solid and exposed every single one of our weaknesses

All i can offer is -- maybe you'll feel better about yourselves after tonight -- when UNCA loses to #10 Tennessee by a minimum or 3 or 4 touchdowns....

14 turnovers between Jesse(9) and Evan(4) :? one too many passes. and no one reached double figures.

Key Stats
LU had 28 TOs
Clemson had 20 assists (5 for LU)
Tigers outrebounded Flames 43-27
Clemson shot 48.5 from the field- 41.7% from 3 pt land
LU shot 30.4% from the field but was 2-12 from 3 (16.7%)

Tough to win against any good team with those numbers.. ODU on Thursday- Good luck!

I hate to say this, but why would he? If I'm him I'd stay away from us.

It was tough to watch at times...we had some good looks that just would not fall. Here's hoping the guys cna somehow recover from this or Thursday could be even uglier.

I did get to meet Eric Collins afterward so that was probably the only highlight of the morning for me.

First, to the dude in the front of the student section with the painted blue face & white thundersticks:

I hope you know how asinine you look yelling at the refs every time something doesn't go your way. Throwing down the sticks......pseudo-flipping the ref off.......you look asinine. AS.....I.......NINE.

As for the game, Clemson obviously is a level above us. Their speed & size forced us to play at a much quicker pace than we wanted to. That leads to being more uncomfortable, which leads to sloppy play, etc......its cyclical. Clemson forced us to play bad....and the times they didn't, we played bad on our own.

The students chanting "overrated" BEFORE the game was idiotic. Also, that chant is just dumb. IF we had beat them, why diminish what we did by saying they shouldn't have been ranked that high?

Did you read the thread with the word "expectations" in it? We expected to lose big, but some of what I'm seeing is concerning. Like Kyle being "the man" this year and totally not being in the building.
Uh, yeah I read it. And I was the only one on there saying we'd lose by 25+. The majority of posts had us losing 1-10 or even winning.

1. Really had hoped "KO" was gone for good. :-( We could have used Kyle in this game.
2. McMasters is going to be a really solid player for us in a year or two. The more I see him play the more excited I get.
3. Crowd was GREAT! I think it showed a glimpse of what playing in the Vines was like back in the early 90's. I hope we can build off that to get back to that kind of environment on a more consistant basis. Recruits will want to come and play for that type of crowd/fan base.
4. We are REALLY young and it showed in our composure this game. Clearly they have superior talent but if we had just played an average game instead of a total meltdown at times we would have made it more respectable.
5. Jesse has not played to the level he was at last year yet this season in the two games that have mattered. SVU doesn't count. Some of that is clearly the D but his decision making has regressed. It seems like he is pushing... I know he will come around, just saying...
6. We are lacking a player that can consistantly create his own shot. I think Gordon and Perez show the most potential to develop into this kind of player for us.
7. Recruiting will be VERY IMPORTANT for us the next couple of years. We have several pieces we can work with now but one or two more key guys and another year or two of maturity will make us the type of team we all long for us to be.
