The HCYA Warriors won their third straight 18-and-under championship — and fifth in six years — last weekend at the National Christian Home School Basketball Championships in Springfield, Mo.
The Warriors beat the Oklahoma City Storm 54-38 for the Division I 6A title.
“We were really outsized and I didn’t know if we had enough to win it this year, but I was real proud of this team,” HCYA coach Tom Sanders said.
Sanders’ son, Liberty commit John Caleb Sanders, led the team in scoring throughout the tournament, averaging 29.6 points per game. He was named the winner of the Sullivan and Maravich awards.

Stupid question, probably, but how do the age groupings work? If he just turned 18 and they just finished their season, is he "done" with Texas home school basketball? What's left for him to play down there, shouldn't he just come on up to LU this fall (assuming he finishes up all his coursework)??
