what makes you a "empty suit" is the fact that youve given no actual solutions. All youve said is "recruit more talent" You can "recruit more talent" out the wazoo instead of maybe suggesting a change in using the talent we already have like maybe switching to a triangle and two or a 1-3-1 on defense or maybe going to a more uptempo style (or in the opposite end even a Princeton style) on offense or changing up the starting lineup. Those may not be GOOD solutions, but they are at least solutions, which is something you have not once suggested.

You must still have your textbook from "Coaching Basketball".

We were sold on how these programs were moving to a national stage and it has only happened with our press conferences. But if we challenge the notion that the current level of performance is unsatisfactory it is an empty suit.

The only thing empty is the Vines Center tomorrow night.
Again, nothing to do with the current situation. Your only solution is to fire everyone and start over. I'm fairly certain no one is thrilled at where we are right now in MBB. But those of us who can look at it objectively realize that this yearns going to be a wash. We did pretty well last year, and don't see why we can't next year when everyone is healthy.
Secondly, you continue to confuse success with butts in seats. The notion of 'if you win they will come' is not always valid. Still waiting for your brilliant ideas on that one. Oh wait, we already have them. Fire the AD and Recruit More Talent. Yep, that's the ticket. They build monuments to people who have such inspiring intellect.

The staff is paid to bring in talent and produce a winning strategy. Certainly I would try to limit a teams ability to score easily. This is D1 athletics and coaches changes are made for attendance reasons so I would like to know where your monument is being built.

Hopefully tonight we can hold home court as VMI did.

You have yet to actually give any sort of idea on how to do that. If you know so much more than DL as to how to maximize the talent we have (and "recruit more talent" as you continually suggest), we'd love to hear your idea...otherwise you are nothing more than a "empty suit" as PH described

Make up your mind. Are you criticizing the lack of attendance or the lack of talent.
I don't think you can put that on DL to a great extent. IMO there is one our two things ALL of our coaches can do to help with that.
If you are talking talent and strategies, I see good strategy but maybe not the talent in uniform. Now if you add the players in street clothes and take into account last season success I would say they are doing the job they were hired to do.
See 2 different things. One does not necessarily have to do with the other. The way ToC talks all would be fine if we averaged 5k and had a losing record.

Losing John Brown's 11pt and 10 reb is a factor. From worst to first I doubt. Sommy averaged 1pt and 2 rebs, let's not over rate the impact. I admit that Coach K I am not, but this program is in a tail spin. JB is evaluated on his hires and to date very questionable at best. Some is responsible for the recruiting and coaching. One player can be a setback but if it is devastation then who recruited the depth of talent or lack there of?

Some on here like seem PH quick to defend the performance but look at the numbers...I am confident it was not what JLFjr was sold. He may be patient but I am sure it has his attention, no matter who's opinion is entered on ff. LU needs to do better.

Your fallacy is thinking that Sommy couldn't have improved over the summer. That is an unknown. Players improve. Does the situation bare watching? Sure. Is it time to pull the plug? Absolutely not. Now if the team is at the same place next year then you may have a leg to stand on.
You may want to re think what you know, or more importantly don't know, about recruiting, player impact and player development. It's not as easy to 'recruit talent ' as you think. I mean we are not the only one going after these kids. You and ToC are in total panic mode simply because of your dislike for the AD and the head coach. It jades your opinion on everything. Admiting you have a problem is half the battle. I have no dog in this fight, I just know what I see.
