He has done a lot with very little at NCCU. Heck they couldn't even afford to the pay the NCAA for the cost to broadcast the game on the radio last year when they went to the NCAA tourney.
I don't think he would leave there to come here. Moton would put Liberty back on the map and take it to a place it hasn't been before. His story of what he has done here in the triangle is awesome.

I don't think Barber will make a great hire, he could prove me wrong but I don't see it happening. Had he kept Randy Dunton and given him an open check in the first place we wouldn't be at the bottom of D-1 men's basketball like we are now. Barber is just as responsible for this mess as Layer is. He didn't see the writing on the wall 2 years ago when everyone else did which is his fault. But win or lose we will pray with the opponent  Which is all that has seemed to matter for the last 3 years.
I can't believe I missed this

He has his opinion of JB. Besides, if GMTM wants to act like he ran over his dog (or cat) on his way to town or something, and be all "fire JB" and angry and bitter or whatever, that's his prerogative.

Based on what? I'm the one who said Layer wasn't our guy 3 years ago. As my wife is beginning to learn, I am very rarely wrong.

There's actually 3. The 2 that were mentioned in Flames Nation's post and you can also add Baylor to their list.

The Richmond Times took a cheap shot at Liberty in today's paper.

They were talking about all the state D1 schools. They mentioned LU having an opening, and former Coach McKay would be getting a lot of looks from schools needing a coach, much better schools than Liberty.

Not true. My wife appreciates and delivers brutal honesty.
So does mine...but that still doesn't mean I say yes if she asks me if that dress makes her look fat.

Is it a cheap shot if it's true?

Why would Moton leave the 1st place team in a small conference for the last place team in another small conference?? for an extra 150k? lateral move guys at best, his next move is HM - probably UNCC

not saying he couldn't do the job, but know you have to start thinking differently the outside perception of people who have never seen LU isn't the same as the people on this board. and LU at the end of the day is still in the Big South. you still have to go to the Buc Dome, to the PC crappy gym, etc why do you think RMK/Curry left???

the hire will be a older HM assistant like Meyer or Lutz that doesn't care about moving and can make HM assistant type money or a Tang or Jordan type.. or someone connectted to the search firm, Jeff Jones staff, old Dave Odom assistants or connected with him... etc.

Halfway there. Lang has said that there are two teams in his top 25 ballot with coaches who are interested in the HC job at LU. I know that three have been mentioned here, thus the algebra expression.

The Richmond Times Dispatch is actually a fairly moderate paper. I don't think that was a shot at Liberty. McKay will likely be getting offers from some very big schools. He has head coaching experience and I've even heard some suggest that he's the brains behind UVA's success. We're going to have to give him a lucrative offer, while keeping in mind that we still owe Layer.

Yeah...tell me how it would work out if I ever introduced you to my wife and you said she looks like a fat cow (or whatever you would say if you were being "brutally honest").

Getting back to the topic...JB will have his pick of candidates when all is said and done, and I'm pretty sure money won't be a problem but for a select few.

Outside of those three, what Virginia program is worth covering?
