Until this year, no, they weren't. They were UConn and everybody else. This is the first year in living memory where they have had several high-quality teams but, historically, that hasn't been the case.
Last year, the Big East was the #3 conference, higher than the ACC, and higher than the Big 10.
Three years ago, it was the second-rated conference, ahead of the Big 10.
Four years ago (04-05), it was the second-rated conference, ahead of the Big 10.
Five years ago, it was #4, and still ahead of the Big 10.
Six years ago, it was #4, and still ahead of the Big 10.
