I love all three of you, but these comments are just crazy.
First off, if we can beat Winthrop in the three win season, and can almost beat them AT Winthrop last year, then we have a shot this year. There's no way Winthrop goes undefeated this year in conference.
Secondly, Smoothie's statement saying he hopes we can stay within 20. Do you not remember we were up on VT at halftime and only lost by twelve? Ritchie's not going to come out with a game plan that gets us killed. The only game we lost by 20 was Kentucky when we shot 6% from three in the first half and overall 33% from the field.
I'm not saying we'll win tonight, or that we'll definitely beat Winthrop. I just know that Coach McKay is going to keep us in every game. He's good enough to make in-game adjustments which is something we haven't seen in a long time. If Winthrop can be beaten by The Mount, an NEC team, then they can be beaten by a Big South team. If George Mason can be beaten by ECU, a team we beat, then we can beat them. To say we have no chance or we'll be lucky to keep it within 20 is just crazy.
