I watch the D-1 games on 13.2, I used to be able to get 43 until the decided to hide it under a bushel.
Obviously they never attended Sunday School and sang songs or they would know that's a No no :D

3 mins left - first time to see the team play this year. Still hate the offense - we spend way too much time 5-10 feet beyond the 3 pt line in a non-offensive positions going laterally vs vertically. Someone posted a couple of days ago that our guys are poor interior passers but I believe it is more of the system - at some point you have to cut, pass, or attack on the dribble in a way that consistently puts pressure on the defense. We end up taking too many 15-18 foot jumpers.

Also agree with many folks that have stated the defense has really dropped. In saying that, we are right there with a team that beat Cincy. Bring a penetrating guard and strong post player from juco in with these guys who are a year stronger and it could be fun to watch next year.

John Caleb just does not bring much to the team - the off guard position is just too important to not get much there.

May get criticized for this last comment, but as much as I like Jesse and know he has been a TREMENDOUS asset to the team, I somewhat look forward to seeing if there is a different flow to the offense without him controlling the ball in the manner that he does.

We will really miss Manaya next year - he is really good and getting better.

I agree about JC
I disagree about the offense. It is the system they run and it fits our personnel. The problem is they don't get the ball low when it is there

Those 2 missed lay ups remind me of a state ranked girls HS team I know :D

I think PC paid the refs. Not that it matters cause we deserve to lose.

PC 60-56 with 16 seconds left.

That wasn't a foul. It was poor court vision

a fine line sometimes between whether it is the system or the execution of it but either way it needs to change

J. Sanders just missing the triple double sort of summed this one up -- a just miss. Lots of chances down the stretch.

I liked SCAR's tie.....stinks we lost and I hate seeing the Vines so empty. As recent as 2007-08, we at least had a decent crowd... :(

SPORTER. I disagree. I think we are a player or two away, and tonite showed it. Hopefully, these injuries will cause one of the bench players to improve during the course of the year so that we start winning these games. Personally, I'm a fan of Geilo, because he is so long and has a tad bit of height to him. He can shoot the 3 and put it on the floor. I imagine that defensively he is not doing what coach layer wants or he has poor practice habits. Either way, I think he has the most potential to improve.
Our guys are right there every game. If they hit that lay up on the steal it's a different ball game. Defensively we are probably not where we want to be and a lot of that again goes with who we have to play due to injuries. Usually you can hide adefensive liability like JC or Little Layer, but hiding 2 or more is tough at this level.

Purple, we may disagree a little on the offensive system but we completely agree with everything you said above. We are not that far away. Your comments on Gielo are probably why SMith and Baird are not seeing as much action as well. I played in college on a team that ended up with 6 scholarship players after injuries and defections so can absolutely attest to how difficult it is when you lose key parts prior to or during the year (ironic that it was for Flamefan favorite Mel Hankinson at a different university) - the guys are battling and the record is not an indication of where the program is. Have another year and a half of near misses and that is different but you can see promise with this group.

Still would have liked to see Burris in during the crucial time for strength and rebounding.

Based on the board comments he wasn't any more successful at Liberty than he was with us. He was here for four years, didn't win enough, spent too much money, and was on his way.

Put it this way, I graduated G-W in 1994, and remember well yelling trash at Nibert when we faced them in the South Atlantic Conference when we were both NAIA schools.

I believe y'all have lost your last eight conference games dating back to last season? Ouch. We had our chances in Lexington tonight and didn't get it done, but I'm happy with the direction we are headed in with HPU and CSU coming here Saturday and next Tuesday.

Lack of defensive stops and missing some point blank easy shots killed us. If we just had JB and Sommy...... I do love the never say die attitude these guys have!

PH must be on staff. That was another sad performance. You must hold home court. The Vines Center is empty. Upper classmen miss lay ups and we sit in a soft confused zone. JB and Sommy won't help the 3 pt shooting. The program has taken a big dip.

Yet despite all that we had a chance to win. Would JB and Sommy help our interior defense or our rebounding? Hmmmmm. Gee Mr Wizard I don't know. Are those things more important then 3 point shooting?
Glad to see you are working hard to come up with solutions! Yeah that Fire the AD and recruit more talent are really ground breaking. Perhaps you suggest a magic wand to wave that makes fans suddenly appear! Oh wait, my bad If we fired the AD MBB coach and recruited more talent they would automatically appear.
